I have an airgun that is only .177 cal. I didn't think that caliber would go through the fur of a squirrel, but I was pleasantly surprised. I am decreasing the squirrel population greatly. There are no natural predators for squirrels around my area anymore, so the place was getting overran.
Pros
I have a problem with an over population of squirrels. They love to go into the chicken run when the chickens are free ranging and eat their grain.
The PolyMags are amazing. 1 shot and these things put them down in a hurry.
I have never had this kind of success with regular pellets or regular hollow point pellets.
Cons
I can't say anything bad about the PolyMags. I am a fan!
This is a great pellet that comes with a big punch and great penetration. This is an accurate pellet that expanses when it hits. Handles and travels at good speed also.
Pros
accurate, great penetration, big punch, great speed
The sharp red point on these pellets ensures good penetration. I have had hollow-point and round nose pellets hit the target, but not penetrate the skin. So far I have found these to be accurate and effective in my Crosman PC77 pistol.
Pros
Almost guaranteed penetration
Great Pellets , Wel Made,
Shoots good groups from my Feinwerkbau 124 and RWS 48.
Pros
Accurate and good penetration
Cons
Cost
Wow another winner look and act just like Gamo's red flame.
Speed , correct ballistics , accuracy, price , penetration, expanding, what else could you ask for?
Pros
Speed, accuracy,, penetration, price for perfection
Cons
None
Great accuracy and performance out of several different rifles that I have used them in.
Pros
Accuracy, and terminal performance
Cons
A little pricey but worth it.
Well made, very uniform in size, accurate in my crosman vantage. Just too expensive.
Cons
Price
Nice grouping with the Ruger. Will be testing them soon w/ my Hatsan 125 Sniper.
Pros
Red tip looks cool, James Bond would be envious.
Cons
SPECTRE and SMERSH provocateurs need not apply.

DANNY from USAThe Polymag pellets work well in most any air rifle. I have noticed the pellet skirts some times are bent due to the thin lead and how they are packaged.
JohnIs it good for hunting small game animals?
asked leveIf your rifle shoots about a 1000 or so with this weight then I'd say yes. but if they are going very much below 900 I'd say the plastic point is actually robbing you of adequate penetration and youd be better off with All lead rounded or pointed pellet.
James from USAThey seem to work well enough on the long earred varmints in the garden. I would want to make certain I was pushing them to close to 1000 fps or so though the funky point end would be a hinderance to good penetration if sent out very slow if your gun shoots slower than say 850 or so I'd suggest a rounded or pointed style that will shoot well in your air gun.
James from USAHow fast do these pellets shoot in my Ruger Air Hawk?
asked Nicole from USA
These pellets work great on small animals but won't penetrate a pigeon from the side. They are very accurate and effective on "soft" targets like the hide of an animal but trying to shoot through the wing of a sitting pigeon just produces a lot of feathers flying and the bird flying away. They need to note they aren't for bird targets and they would get a better rating from me. I bought them specifically for pigeons and am very unhappy I wasted my money.
They work extremely well on rabbits, etc but need to be labeled to save people wasting money if they are specifically targeting birds.
