I have used this indoors so far as the weather has not been great outside yet. The unit has mounting holes on the bottom. I screwed the target to a flat piece of wood and then screwed another flat piece of wood to the bottom piece to act as a backstop. Besides making it more stable and easier to set on top of something it also collects about 75% of the pellets. They just seem to collect on the bottom piece of wood making for easier cleanup. Since this is made for Biathlon or 10M guns you have to keep the guns and your expectations in that range.
Pros
Works well with the intended guns.
Cons
Product listing should list the maximum power level to use this. When I shoot it with a .177 10M rifle and it works great. CO2 pellet pistols if you can hit the target works well too. With my CO2 Beeman AR2078 in .22 with puts out just a hair over 6 Foot Pounds the target will drop but bounce back. I mostly use the JSB 13.73 WC in that gun. I don't recall using the RWS Hobby 11.9 WC as that may have reduced the energy just enough to keep the target from resetting.
Please know that you can’t shoot to reset the targets, you have to pull a long string, makes it useless
Pros
Not many
Cons
The string, need a shooting target to reset not a silly long string
Works great with 22 cal. My 177 cal. has a hard time knocking them down. I received this free with my order. You cant go wrong there.
Pros
Heavy metal construction
This is a small unit, you do have to be a good shot. Its not for indoor use as this does not collect any used pellets. Once the pellets hit they will splash all over the place. You have to have a tray underneath to collect the pellets.
The margin of error is small on the two outside targets, if you miss you'll need another trap to collect the missed shot. Some of us live in urban areas and stray pellets need to be stopped for the neighbor's safety.
Lastly, the unit is rated for .177 airguns under 600fps, kinda low for most guns. Its ok for me as I used a IZH-60 and FWB 700 match rifle. But I did notice that when the targets are hit they go down then bounce back up by themselves. They don't stay down.
Its fun but not really ready for prime time. I'm thinking of the Sig Sauer Quad target trap next.
Oh, Airgun Depot did a nice job packing the shipment. A+ for that!
Pros
Great fun, kinda cool.
Cons
Does not collect used pellets. Very small margin of error for missed shots, so you'll need another trap to stop missed shots. 50% of time the hit flags will go down and bounce back up on their own, no need to reset with the string.
