I had extreme difficulty getting a BB to chamber upon cocking. Would dry-fire on me at least 50% of the time. After about 70 shots (yes, I counted), the gun broke (cocking lever jammed and BB's spilled out of the trigger slot. Draining the remaining BB's from the gun revealed another problem. Twisting and pulling the barrel cap (standard emptying procedure) caused the cap (and attached barrel tube) to slam hard against the edge of the barrel jacket. This means that the barrel tube was bent inside the gun.
An hour later, for the same price as the Lil Duke, I bought a Crosman Legacy at the local Walmart, and ended up with a FAR superior gun.
Pros
Not much, other than the single cocking action (i.e. not a multi-pump).
Cons
VERY poorly made. Also, needs some type of visual confirmation that a BB has chambered, like the Daisy I had when I was a kid.
Perfect for the young ins! Brings v BBC ack the good old days. Just don’t shoot your eye out!

I give each grandson a bb gun on their eight birthday my first great grandson is just 9 months old so I may not be around at 8 years as I am 74 I have always bought Daisy red Ryder but I liked the looks of the lil Duke very pleased with quality and feel of it I just had to try it out for about ten shots and it was fine a little hard to cock but it will work. Thanks for quick shipping. Dave Shell
Brings back special BB gun kid memories and memories of the Duke.
Pros
A good BB gun salute to the Duke.
Cons
It won't take down a whitetail deer, but who cares.
Works as advertised; Quality is far superior to the Daisy lever action and pump BB guns I had as a boy. The "added attraction" is that it is a memento to the life of John Wayne (everyone's "hero" for doing "the right thing" during my boyhood days while "growing up"...).
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.Since answering isn't possible on the questions because of some computer glitch I'll answer by saying this rifle is the most inaccurate rifle I've ever uses and that's over 100 . Reults are more like a shotgun on the target than 8-9-10 scores. Pure luck if you hit a bullseye.
asked Anthony from USAMy new John wayne bb gun rifle is not accurate even with careful site and target shooting. Have there been issues with this with other customers? Purchased from Farm King store in Kewanee,Ill 3 weeks ago. Jeff Kincaid.
asked Jeffrey from USAIs this any shorter than the red ryder?

Great price adds to the attraction of working on this.
Pros
This is a follow up review. I gave it a 2 for inaccuracy on the firs on. I'm upgrading to a 4 with this review. The singular primary reason is the "fix" of the previously unacceptable accuracy. I've improved it, but it's not good yet -- just a lot better than it was. First, I cleaned the barrel SIX times with different components. Next, I attached the rail with JB Weld and the provided screws to make it part of the rifle, not just a floating attachment. JB is not visible, just rock solid now. I used a red dot scope again. I used Daisy Premium BBs only. I went back to the shooting stand. OK, now I'm 4 out of 5. Still working on it. Don't give up -- it's a really good looking BB gun.
