This is one of those.. good, but could have been better thought out guns. It is fun to fire as it works with the same loading and firing mechanics as the DX17. I give this gun 4 stars.. and the DX17 5 stars. Since they are cheap its fun to get both and compare the differences.

Pros
Note: This review replaces my previous review.. After giving this gun a 2nd chance I am updating the review. This is a direct competitor with the Umarex DX17.. now overall I feel the DX17 is a better gun as it is easier to load, feels better built, and seems slightly more accurate. The 1018 is fun to fire and can easily single fire pellets just like the DX17. Now compared to the Daisy 340 and MPS45 (other 200fps guns) the DX17 and 1018 are not quite as accurate and can be a bit trickier to control as the forward section of the gun can stray upward due to the front of the barrel having a bit of a recoil when firing. The recoil can be countered by also holding the front 1/3 of the gun under the barrel with a 2nd hand if needed. My wife fired it with no problem but it strayed more for me then her as I have a bit heavier pull on the trigger. For me that improved accuracy considerably. My tests were done firing free hand from 10-15ft using BBs and pellets.

Cons
A annoying point of this gun is the safety is right behind the trigger on the left side.. which can make firing the gun left handed a bit of a pain if your finger hits the safety button. The slide and accuracy seem to improve a bit after the gun starts breaking in a bit, say about 100+ rounds. The loading bay can snap shut while loading if your not careful and it not as easy to use as the DX17 as there are no side tabs to open it with. Using a finger to pry it open across the top of the front sight I found is the easiest way to load the gun.

Read my review of the DX17 for more general details about the tests run above..

Pros
Not much.. tested out 4 springers side by side.. PSM, Daisy 340, and Umarex DX17 (best of the 4)

Cons
This gun has no real redeeming qualities.. poorly designed, right hand only works.. left handers will hit the safety to turn the gun off which is RIGHT behind the trigger - stupid idea, loading bay takes effort to open and can easily snap shut which makes loading a pellet harder, accuracy however is awful with LOTS of strays. For a direct competitor to the DX17.. the DX17 puts the Model 1018 to shame. Even the PSM and 340 are better designs.

Is there any custom accessories for this gun? Like scopes, barrel attachments, rifle stocks, or anything to change the gun's mod's...
