this is the set up you want if you shoot a lot of CO2 and don't want to have a remote bottle to lug around. I have a QB78 I use for hunting in the woods, but this gun is ideal if your doing a lot of target shooting, or possibly if you are using a stand to hunt from. the moderate FPS of this rifle is ok if your taking head shots at squrrils or small game from cl;ose distances. If you want ot modify this to PCP it is easy to do with out a lot of modifications. This rifle is very accurate right out of the box!!
Pros
No need to constantly change cartridges, easy to transport instead of having a remote bottle. Accurate!!
Cons
A bit heavy for walking around in hte woods.
This is one of the best guns for the hobbyist you could buy.
Pros
This rifle can go way beyond it limits . it is one of those that you can shoot out of the box or turn it into your own be adding mods.
Cons
Don't think that out of the box its going to compete with a high-end air gun. its just CO2.
The first rifle blew the co2 cylinder contents out in my hand as soon as I screwed it on. Airgun Depot was first rate for returning it. I now have received another QB79, and although I haven't wrung it out yet, this one holds pressure. The rest is up to me. Buy the tune up kit with bolt upgrade when you buy the rifle. You'll be back for it later. Thanks for prompt service and great ethics in customer service. Bill D.,PA
Pros
Good weight, nice platform. Super value for the price. Can be set up for compressed air, but love the co2 option. Huge potential for the tinkerer. Did I say VALUE and TINKERER. This is where the QB79 shines.
Cons
Adequate but needs upgrades out of the box. Check main seal as soon as unboxing. They have a reputation for sending out damaged seal according to the president of Archer Air. See YouTube. May save you a handful of 900 psi ice cold co2. Don't count on Beeman quality like normal. Is definitely sub contracted.
I just got this in the mail today, and like a kid on Christmas, had to play with my new toy. After mounting the Mantis 3-9x32 AO scope and sighting it in, I was extremely satisfied with the accuracy. First group of 10 shots at 20 yards were all in a spot the size of a nickel. Can't beat that for what it costs!!
Pros
Accuracy!
Cons
A bit heavy, but the solid build make up for the weight.
For target practice it does give me more shots per fill than the QB78. This is a Chinese rifle that Beeman imports and is a copy of the Crossman/Sheridan CO2 rifle, with a larger CO2 bottle. I prefer the QB78 for handling, and since I can't bulk refill at home, I use the Sheridan much more often. Bought this one thinking I would convert to HPA, but it was cheaper, and far easier to just buy a Discovery. Accuracy is fine, wood and bluing is fine. Just not a favorite rifle of mine.
Pros
More shots per fill
Cons
Weight/ balance Cost of CO2 Looks
