Maximus is a accurate. Shoots sub 1/2 inch group at 25 yards with jsb 13.43 pellets. Easy to pump up with g 6 pump. Couldnt ask for more for the price, included scope not bad
Pros
Great accuracy.
Cons
Trigger not that good, useable but heavy pull weight.
Once I got the scope sited in the rifle is very accurate. This package is a great starter rifle to get into PCP airguns. It takes a little over a minute to pump up the rifle and I have been getting about 20 to 29 shots depending on distance.
I got the combo from Airgun Depot. For some reason, the air pump did not ship. I called AGD Friday afternoon before the Labor Day holiday and they managed to get the G6 pump shipped the same day. It arrived on following Wednesday - GREAT SERVICE from the guys at AGD!!. I had the gun for 6 days before I could pump it up and shoot it., but I got to love it before I took the first shot. The scope was nice, although this gun deserves more magnification and I will swap the Mantis with my Leapers 3-12x44 which also has higher mounts and will fit me better than the mounts that came with the Mantis scope. I do note 3 deficiencies with the package.
One -- the bolt does not have sufficient rearward travel, There is only .3" clearance between the bolt tip and the rear of the breech. There is plenty of room for additional bolt travel but the hammer prevents more travel. This is an easy fix by grinding the rear of the bolt and I will do so as soon as the warranty expires.(or maybe sooner depending on the irritation factor)
Two -- the transfer port was drilled leaving a considerable burr inside the barrel. It is actually difficult to chamber most pellets. I chambered a pellet, then pushed it out with a cleaning rod from the muzzle and the pellet had a lead smear on the bottom. It doesn't appear to affect accuracy as I can get less than .5" groups at 25 yards. But I will fix this eventually.
Three -- hard to cock, Talked to Crosman rep who said that this MAY ease up with use. If not I will sub a lighter spring. It will lose a little power but gain more shots per fill. My small game consists of rabbits, squirrels and crows and I might take on rats at a local farm. A little loss of power will probably never be an issue for me.
The gun is very accurate with every pellet that I have tried -- about 12 different ones, including Cheap Wallyworld CPHP. I love it that I can practice all I want with CPHP at $6 for 500 pellets. I don't know how many shots it will get on a fill. I think Crosman claims 20 but I could not see any loss of accuracy at 25 shots
This is a great gun.
Pros
Economical, nice light weight and very accurate.
Cons
Minor assembly/manufacturing issues

This is a great gun. Economical, nice light weight and very accurate.
Pros
Light weight. economical, very, very accurate, fun and not at all fussy about pellets, What more could you ask for
Cons
Hard to cock, some pellets are hard to load due to clearance issue. single shot
I've tried several lower priced break barrel rifles (in the $160 to $220 range), but I was never consistent from one day to the next. Finally figured out that the barrel wasn't always locking in the exact same position each time I cocked it - And with the scope mounted to the rifle, my shots were going everywhere. So, I started looking for a rifle that wasn't a break barrel. I had read about the PCP rifles, but the prices were too high, until I read about the Maximus, so I ordered the combo kit. For me, the G6 Pump is really easy to pump to 2000psi. However, I did let the wife try and she couldn't pump it. From 1000 to 2000 psi it takes about 60-80 pumps with the G6, which I can typically do in less than 2 minutes. The scope is a real step up from the 4x32's that typically come on a rifle. If you have really big fingers, you may want to get the high-rise scope mount in order to get the pellets into the gun. The rifle gets louder and louder as the pressure drops. At 2000psi, it's pretty quiet, but by the time you get down to 1200 you could make the neighbors mad. I did need to add the rubber band to hold the bolt down and I have also changed out the heavy trigger spring - Trigger is much better now. I made myself a gun rest and did some tests using various types of pellets. All shots were from 25 yds
Pros
Nice Scope
Accuracy - Can hit a golf ball from 25 yds just about very time or an 8oz pop can from 30yds.
With pellets in the 14gr range, can get 30-35 useful shots per fill.
The G6 Pump makes easy work filling the rifle to 2000 psi.
Cons
Heavy Trigger - But easy to mod.
Can be a little trying to put pellets in with supplied mounting rings.
Wish the G6 pump hose was longer, pretty much have to lay rifle on the ground to pump it.
Wish the release point of the Trigger was further back, feels like I need to stretch my finger a bit.

Great package other than the pump. The rifle is deadly accurate and shots a good quantity of shots before needing refilled.Strap is pretty nice also.I usually make my own out of leather but its nice to just clip one on.I had problems with the pump getting spongy and leaking oil.Sent it back and Airgun Depot sent out a new one quickly. The 2nd time I used this one the bearings fell out of the connector. So Airgun Depot gave me another RMA.This time I am going with another brand being skeptical the first brand will have more problems. That said Airgun Depot is great to work with problems or not.
Pros
Light strong lots of shots per fill package pricing
Cons
Pump
