I bought this gun to replace the old Daisy pump BB gun I use for suburban backyard critter control. I looked at other, more expensive guns, but settled on this one as it seemed to be the best price vs. function for what I needed. I've put maybe 50 pellets through it thus far and am learning its ins and outs, sighting in the scope, etc. My long shots are maybe 25 yards max. My accuracy with it is not as good as with my old Daisy, but I'll chock that up to operator error and a gun that is not yet broken in. The gun is much heavier than my old gun, and the recoil is definitely different, but I'm not sure these are bad things as apposed to things I just need to get comfortable with. Some reviews indicated that this gun is pretty loud. I guess I haven't noticed that so much, and I'm surrounded by suburban neighbors. Regardless, squirrels and rabbits are not safe in my backyard. Overall, I'm very happy with the gun and the price I paid.
Pros
Good value for the price
Solid, well built
Adequate scope for what I need
Cons
Maybe a little hard to cock the spring
Heavier than my old, cheap gun (not sure this is a bad thing)
The Benjamin Titan XS is the perfect .177 pellet gun that I've been waiting 5 years for! It is very well built, has great ergonomics\handling and has proven Very Accurate (10yds=Same Hole w\Benjamin 7.9gram lead HP). There's virtually no recoil and I can shoot in my workshop without hearing protection, it's that quiet (thanks to the smooth Nitro Piston technology)! The included Centerpoint 3-9 x32 scope is okay (7-9 power gets grainy) but adjust well for a consistent zero. Trigger pull is on the long side (1") and heavy (7lbs). Two 3\16" lock washers on the trigger pin\sear contact dropped length of pull to a consistent 1\4" and 3.25lbs, giving me bulls eyes with every shot...very respectable!
At 1000fps (lead pellets, sub-sonic=stable ballistics), it is very powerful, carrying 18 foot lbs of punch. In just 5 back-to-back bulls eye shots, I tore a hole in my Gamo 8 gauge sheet metal target housing I started with...will need to beef it up to keep using! I've not had the chance to take it out long range (50 to 100 yds), but am confident it will be a very accurate plinker and small game hunt
Pros
Accurate, Quiet, Well Built, Balanced Ergonomics, Powerful.
Cons
Long and Heavy Trigger. Scope at 8-9 power gets Fuzzy.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product. The specs say Weight: 4.99 It would be closer to 7.99. So it's on the heavy side, not light side fyi.
asked JoeThey show 8.3 now which is about right, but that's not counting the scope whatever it weights.
CassI have one and with the scope it's about 8.9 lbs. The stock is very heavy, the wood one is 1lb lighter
GuestThat stock is much heavier than others so w/o scope I'd say 8.0 lbs. Scope and mounts will be ~16oz, maybe more, so all together I'd say at least 9lbs. A bit much but the weight and semi-soft material dampens the shot, so it's nicer to shoot, but not great to carry around. Wood stocks vary but for example my Trail "Hardwood" stock is 24oz lighter.
ROBERT from USA
I bought this rifle to have an extra rifle, I made a great choice. I have a Gamo G2 Whisper spring, But I also wanted a nitro piston. I did a lot of reading and picked the Titan XS NP, I couldn't have made a better choice. I purchased a Umarex Octave before the Titan. It was nice gun but not for a 74 year old man with 3 shoulder surgery's. After I got my Titan sited in, shooting In my basement at my homemade pellet trap, I shot 15 flat nose 7.56gr pellets from a rest 35', and a dime would cover them all. This is a great rifle and easy to cock.
Pros
I like every thing about the gun, the Picatinny Rail is really nice. It's all set up to use a sling if you want.
Cons
None
