It's no surprise that with the popularity of the firearm the Beretta Model 92 has been one of the most commonly replicated firearms in the airgun world. There has been everything from inexpensive airsoft replicas to super high-end pellet guns produced to closely resemble this iconic handgun. Now Umarex has stepped up the game with the introduction of the Beretta 92A1 Full Auto BB Pistol. This accurately reproduced pistol features full metal construction, a drop free 18 round magazine, realistic blowback action and of course, the ability to fire in full auto mode making the Beretta 92A1 one of the most fun and entertaining guns on the market! Firearm fanatics will point out that there's never been a full auto Beretta 92. That's true as Beretta developed their full auto version and called it the Beretta 93R that is based on the Model 92. ?R" standing for Raffica, which is Italian for volley, flurry, or burst. And apply named term for the result of pulling the trigger in full auto mode. Holding the 92A1 in hand you get a real sense for the care that Umarex put into producing the accurate reproduction of the firearm. The fit and finish of the handgun rival that of some of the even more expensive airgun replicas. The metal construction makes the weight and feel of the gun very realistic. The controls of the 92A1 all function just like they do on the real deal. Fire the gun till the magazine is empty and the slide locks to the rear just like the real thing, load in a fresh mag and hit the slide release and it will slam back into battery just like the real thing. Even the pull of the double/single action trigger is close to the real thing. All these features add up to make the Beretta M92 A1 Full Auto BB Pistol a great addition to any collection, but we think that it will be appreciated even more by owners of firearm Beretta M92 who are looking for an airgun replica of their favorite pistol. The Beretta M92A1 is a smooth bore BB pistol, and as such it's not winning any awards for accuracy, but precision shooting is not really the game of the M92A1. Think of the M92A1 as the ultimate in backyard plinking. Sure you can shoot it in semi auto and practice your trigger pull and shooting technique and you'll have no problem hitting empty cans and bottles from about 10 to 15 yards out, but we would be willing to bet that most of you will slide that selector to the full auto setting and let her rip. With a cyclic rate of over 500 rounds per minute, the M92A1 will dump a full magazine in under 2 seconds allowing you to lay waste to targets in no time flat. Sure, it may not shoot 1" hole groups, but when you can go full auto, who cares? The M92A1 Full Auto is about average on power when it comes to BB pistols. Shooting it over our chronograph it made about 400 fps. Like most CO2 BB pistols the Beretta M92A1 is not meant to be a powerhouse which also means that as long as you have a sufficient backstop you won't have to worry about sending BB's though your backstop and into places you don't want them to go. Again, the M92A1 is a backyard gun at heart with the added benefit of full auto. Because the M92A1 is a full auto blowback gun it will run through CO2 like its going out of style. We were getting about 3 to 4 full magazines out of the gun before it was depleted, and while this is much better that other full auto CO2 guns (the Umarex Legends M712 only gets about 2 magazines per CO2 cartridge) it's still not what we would call efficient. Really we should have no room to complain here, anytime you buy a full auto CO2 gun just know that the shot count is going to be low, good thing Airgun Depot sells 40 count CO2 packs at some of the best prices around (wink). If you'd like to avoid having to fill your clip after every two seconds of full auto bliss, the first thing you need to invest in is extra M92A1 magazines. Though on the pricey side (since the magazine incorporates the CO2 as well) the ability to switch mags means that you could feasibly fire 72 rounds in 10 seconds! Of course you'll have to practice swapping mags quickly to get that fast. The M92 Full Auto comes equipped with a Picatinny accessory rail under the barrel that is great for mounting lights or lasers. We are big fans of the NC Star Green Compact Pistol Laser or the UTG LED Weapons Light. They both add to the realism of the gun and make shooting in low light a ton of fun. There are also a wide variety of holsters that fit the Beretta M92 Full Auto. The Leapers Special Ops Tactical Leg Holster is a great way to pack your M92 around in the yard for quick access to shooting fun. When it comes to appropriate targets you can use your Beretta on the usual few BB traps. But many don't realize that with the use of low ricochet Smart Shot BBs you can also shoot at metal targets as well. These copper-plated lead BB's flatten on impact and reduce the chance of ricochets significantly. The Air Venturi Stampede Pellet Trap is a blast to shoot with the M92A1 set on full rock and roll. With four shoot to reset targets, you can blast away at it for hours. Even with the aid of low ricochet BBs, when shooting at any metal target or pellet trap wearing safety glasses is a must.
