By chance I noticed that I capture them when shooting to a cardboard box lined with foam. It was the package for a compressor. An additional magnet will help collecting the captured BBs. They are steel, so I am expecting they were not deformed by the impact with the box. I am considering reusing the ones I can recover.

Hard to see the paper wholes. One might consider optics to go with it for that. Joking again. The considering optics. The wholes are small but that is the nature of the endeavor.
