BSA invented the modern spring-piston gun, but they've never stopped to rest on their laurels. They continue to innovate, relying heavily on the expertise of world-renowned airgun expert John Bowkett. The Supersport was originally introduced in 1986, and the SE version is the latest in that long line. It doesn't have much in common with that older gun because it has a significantly higher velocity and takes advantage of modern materials and technology. BSA spring-piston air rifle models are put through a rigorous 10,000-shot test and then stripped down to see how they held up. Anything that doesn't last is improved so it will. Not until the spring gun passes with flying colors in all areas does it get approved for production and can wear the BSA name. Don't you wish every airgun manufacturer did that?

I would buy another BSA break barrel

Pros
Shooting it is a pleasure. The recoil just makes you feel like its a powder burner. Mine is the GRT version and the firing cycle is robust but not too much for anyone. The stock is comfortable for using the open sights unlike the high comb found on most air rifles. My other .22 is an HW 95 and the sights are unusable on it. The Supersport SE just feels right for shooting offhand and I have become fond of the trigger. Its a handsome rifle.

Cons
Put some protection on the front sight. The barrel has a rough feel, but I rarely notice it.
