This is for a Gamo CFR Underlever airgun. AGD did not have the CFR on the list to review so I picked the closest alternate.
This was my second choice. My first was not in stock when I had the chance to buy. This is a physically large gun. I'm an average size guy and I think I'm the smallest guy that would really do well with the gun. I got the gun 5 months ago. It has perform flawlessly. I wanted an underlever for maximum accuracy. (I'm a horrid shot, so I need all the help I can get!) I'm not deeply impressed with the accuracy or the loading process. Perhaps the accuracy can be improved. The loading "tumbler" is not fat-finger friendly. Don't wear gloves when you work this gun. It is reasonably accurate. I'm not a great shot, but I have not been able to be as consistent with this gun as I've been with others. I am not sure if it is ammunition, my hold or the gun. I stacked 10 cans in a pyramid with the round bottoms facing me 20 yards away. I was better pushing the cans off the pyramid with a different gun than with the CFR.
Hunting with this gun is not a forte due to its size. The gun came with a sling, but I could not figure out how to attach the loops. It appeared it had to loop onto a fixed stud, but the only fixed item was the barrel and then the sling got in the way of the sight. I do not use the sling. The gun is made in Spain. I have no issues with the fit and finish. In fact, I like it. It "feels real." I'm not sure the best way to clean a fixed barrel rifle with the cleaning set I have. I managed, but it was not as fulfilling as I hoped. The baffel on the end of the barrel is more show than substance in my opinion. The noise is fairly loud. There is a slight twang with each shot. I've heard better sounding rifles.
I have nothing intelligent to add about the trigger. It is better than the other pellet guns I have, but that only includes 2 other youth rifles and a pistol. The CFR has a trigger good enough for my skill and knowledge set.
Pros
Feels/ looks well-built. Scope is reasonable for an included item (no plans to replace). A scope is required with the purchase price of $250. I like the manual safety in the trigger loop. The loading "tumbler" has a nice feel to it.
Cons
I think the hand grip is too large. The gun is not as accurate as I'd like (this could be me). That piston twang is a bit concerning.
