By RobertUSAMarch 13, 2013I got this Chrony because it stores your info even when you turn it off. It's a great feature to have as you can shut it off and then go back to it later to see your results on different pellets you have fired.
Pros
Stores info and has a separate read out you can get as the pro crony in blue. I have mine hooked to my crony printer I bought with it.

I have had about 5 of these over the years. They are okay when lighting is ideal but when not there are a lot of errant readings or missed readings altogether. I kept buying them after mishaps with attempts to measure downrange velocity or when one would quit working after a few years, etc.
Then I tried the Competition Electronics Pro Chrono Digital. I prefer its solid one piece body construction. It too would have some of the same problems reading shots in some lighting conditions but I found its design and feedback functions to be easier and more instinctive to use. When I added the light kit I knew I would never use the standard sunscreens again. I a year of use, I have never had a failed reading. To be fair, the Chrony Beta was never tested with an optional lighting system so it may be a much better product with one, but the Pro Chrono still has better operational feedback and is Made in the USA.
Cons
Needs nearly ideal natural light conditions to be reliable. Folding design makes it less easy to mount to some tripods.
