In my opinion, the "rifled version" of this airgun is one of the best pellet revolvers you can buy for the money. The smoothbore version is also good, but the rifled version is the best. It is powerful, easy to load, fairly accurate and very reasonably priced. Replacement BB cylinders are easy to find, but replacement metal pellet cylinders are not so easy to find. However, I've found it pretty easy to drill out the plastic BB cylinders, which work extremely well and in some ways even better, if you're having a problem with your particular brand of pellets falling out, you can use a slightly smaller drill when modifying the plastic cylinder. Personally, I have not had any problems with pellets falling out of the metal cylinders.
I do also own the S&W 5866 6" pellet revolver, in which in my opinion is the best pellet revolver made, if not the best pellet pistol made "period". All one needs in drilling out these plastic BB cylinders is any size drill-press with a piece of wood to place the cylinder on. I also suggest that one puts a small recess about a half an inch in diameter in the piece of wood so the back of the cylinder can sit level while drilling. I've found that the #16 drill will center itself when you begin drilling the plastic cylinders from the front. Carefully remove any flashing without countersinking the holes. The plastic is easy to work with.
I have nothing against BBs, but when shooting though a rifled barrel, one should use only pellets, the steel BBs are not suited for rifled barrels. Yes, they will work, it's just in my opinion steel against steel rifleling (I'm not sure if that's how it's spelled, but it sounds right) is not a good thing. I guess I've said enough. :<)
Pros
Inexpensive, pretty accurate, easy to operate and very well made. And every model of this gun is equally as good. They make them in at least 5 different models: Colt Python BB & Pellet Revolver with a barrel of 5.25" (which is actually 5.75"), and a 2.5" snub-nose, that's actually a 3.25" barrel, you can get ether one in rifled or smoothbore barrels. This last one is called "Brodax", which means "Broad Axe" in old English. Right now it's only $35. The Brodax reminds me of Harrison Ford's pistol in the movie "BladeRunner", a very unique and neat looking pistol, only available in smoothbore. I like it so much I fit it with a rifled barrel. I did it mainly because I enjoy working on my lathe and just like working on stuff like this. I own all of these airguns and many, many more.
Cons
I use to say that I wished it was made of metal. But really, the new plastics they're using these days seems to be every bit as good as if it were made of metal, at least within this type of usage. All the important parts inside are made of metal.
Nice replica. Well balanced easy to aim , nice trigger pull, good comfort grip easy loading and co2 exchange . Shoots well on warm days you get about 80 shots out of co2 . Pellets about 60 shots. Over all well built.
Pros
Has a rifled barrel, ten shot magazines, shots both pellets and bbs. Easy loading of magazines and co2. Well balanced
Cons
When shooting pellets at point of aim pellets go hard left. But bbs go where they want too. Pellet magazines don?t hold pellets secure enough during loading loose fit, you have to hold revolver at the right angle to load magazines.other wise pellets fall out. Sights are hard to see of needs white dots.
This revolver is accurate, fun, and easy to change the 10 shot disks. I'm happy with it.
Light and easy to reload... maybe 6 magazines worth of accurate shooting with one cartridge.
This pistol looks like the real deal. I own a colt diamond back and the resemblance is remarkable. It feels like the real thing. It is easy to load as long as you don’t press the pellets to far into the magazine. They’ll fall out if pressed in to far . It is fairly accurate for a inexpensive co2 pistol when using pellets, not so much with bbs. When firing bbs they do not group well at all. It’s a far better pellet pistol than a B.B. pistol. The wrench in the grip is nice for changing the co2 cartridge. The magazines are easy to exchange so you can keep firing. The co2 stays sealed up for a good while if you don’t expend it all in one outing. The trigger and double action is really smooth for a pistol in this price range. The sights are adequate and easily adjustable if you have a small Allen wrench.
Pros
Good looking, feels good in your hand, fairly accurate, easy to change cylinders and load magazines. Points well.
Cons
Should come with 4 pellet magazines and forget about B.B. mags. Not a good B.B. pistol
At this price point i don't know what more one could ask for. Easy to load and shoot. It's a lot of fun for backyard target shooting.
Pros
Lightweight, accurate
Great SA/DA revolver. The actual cylinder doesn't revolve. Rather, it holds a 10 round magazine that revolves. Description says it comes with two pellet mags and two BB mags but it had one BB mag already in it for a total of 3 BB & 2 pellet mags. Load 'em all and you got 50 rounds of fun. I had a blast teaching my 6 yr old grandson to shoot this thing! Lightweight enough for him to control it fairly well - and I think he understood the sight picture better than on his air rifle. He stayed on target better with the Colt and was gratified as a result.
Pros
Nice price, great action, good looking replica, easy and fun to shoot, modest CO2 consumption.
Cons
Lightweight polymer lacks an authentic feel (but, as I stated, comes in handy for teaching kids to shoot).
The gun has enough weight to help keep the aim steady.
Just received my second Colt Python pellet/bbq pistol. Perfect for plinking and small pest control. Looks and feels like the real thing. Can be used with bbs and/or pellets so you don't have to spend a lot of money to get a lot of enjoyment target shooting.
Pros
Looks and feels like the real .357 mag Colt Python. Plenty of ten round cylinders are furnished with the pistol wether you shoot bbs and/ or pellets.
Cons
Warranty is good and service is quick with no questions.
