I have been shooting my new Crosman Silhouette Pistol for about 3 weeks now and just love this gun. Delivery from Airgun Depot was fast and gun came well packaged and safe within 3 boxes with foam in the last one. I filled to 2900psi and shot 8.4g Air Arms which gave an avg. vel. of 456.8. With 7.33g AA Falcons I got 477.0. My velocity graph with the 8.4s started at 415 fps and climbed with each shot to my avg. by shot 10 where the curve flattened out. That told me I needed more spring pressure on the hammer to get the first shots from a full tank shooting faster and to flatten out the Curve. 2 turns cw on the hammer spring fixed that. With a 2moa red dot mounted, I sighted in at 20 yds from a bench and put them all inside a 1/2 inch yellow stickey. This gun is as quite as my baffled Crosman 1701 which is amazingly quite. If you want to impress your friends with your pistol shooting, get this pistol and you will never look back with buys remorse.
Pros
Accurate, quite and since it is a PCP, all weather shooting.
Cons
My only complaint is the number of pellets I go through because I just can not put it down.
Loads of fun. Very reliable. Lots of shots per charge.
What's not to like. Wish my other handguns were as accurate.
My daughter competes in Air matches and has been looking for an affordable competition air pistol. This is a great gun when you can't drop $1500.00 to 2000.00 on the top of the line. I will be shooting this pistol in Air matchs along side my daughter.
Pros
Accurate. I have shot 60 shots and still have air in the cylinder for more.
Cons
A little heavy. Needs to be more clear that the pistol does not come with rear sights.
Outstanding for the price!
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.Does Airgun Depot sell adapters to use a SCUBA tank to charge this gun? If you can use a SCUBA tank, do you also need a diving regulator?
asked Bryce from USAThe SCUBA fill adapter is AGD-A7530 . It will connect directly to the Crosman Silhouette.
Mark from USACan rear sights be mounted on this pistol? if so how sells them?
asked Orlando from USAYou can add all sort of sight to this gun, there are mechanical sights made by Crosman Williams
Dennis from Costa RicaIs this a repetitive, like an automatic? In other words, how many pellets does it hold & shoot? I don't know anything about these, but am wanting to buy one for my husband as a gift.
asked LaurieIt shots only one pellet at the time
Dennis from Costa RicaCan it be equipped with rear sights?
asked RebeccaYes
Dennis from Costa RicaWhat type of adapter is needed? Can I use an air crompessor?
asked Lane HagoodCan we buy a rear sight for this pistol
asked charith AmarasingheCan this gun be fitted with a Williams Micrometer rear sight?
asked Jose F from USAWhat rear sight does one put on this pistol?
asked Dean from USACan this be filled with CO2 like the MRod's?
asked David from USAhow much work is it to fill this pistol with a hand pump? Could a 12 yr old child do it?
asked JimThe high pressure pumps that are capable of reaching 3000 psi take significant force to pump up a PCP chamber. I would guess about 100 lbs of force to completely compress the pump at the bottom of the stroke. Factor in about 50 to 100 full pump strokes to charge it and figure out if you want to pump it up all the time. My daughter is an athletic Blackbelt, weighs 135 lbs and can not pump up a PCP over about 1500 PSI. If you get a PCP, get a scuba tank and adapter - or be prepared to pump!
Roy10 to12 pumps per 100 psi. If you or your 12 yr. old are serious shooters look into compressor. Look into the shoebox compressor. I really like mine.
Melvin from USAI'm sorry but I can't answer that question from experience. I alway's fill my PCP's with a tank.
Ron M from USAWhat p.s.i. can the cylinder hold. Scuba tanks can be 3000 psi. How can a pump do that? I have a compressor, only goes to 130psi
asked MarkCharging can be done by High pressure hand pump, (LOT of work), transfer from scuba tank w/adaptor, or I have Shoebox compressor, my choice, a little costly but I really like the product. Use it to charge guns direct or portable cylinders that I can easily carry to the range. Goggle Shoebox compressor for web site.
Melvin from USAWhat kind of rear sights are used with this pistol?
asked GlennI use a Williams FP-GR-TK , a 22 rimfire 11mm dovetail sight
Darrell E from USAnone. I like a scope a scope
Melvin from USAit works using CO2 ballons? or using PUMP ?
asked Oleg SmirnovThis uses a pump or a scuba tank with adapter. Does not use CO2. Thanks
Scott from USA
