POWERLINE 953 TargetPro
The PowerLine TargetPro is perfectly engineered for the beginning competitive shooter, though it's also a great small-game rifle, and lots of fun for recreational shooting. With just one pump, a shooter gets loads of power, for accurate shooting at the target range, or in the field. With its 5-shot clip, follow up shots are fast, too. The single pump cocking lever, straight-pull bolt action and the fiber-optic sights are easy for beginning or intermediate shooters to use. Plus, the outstanding balance and superior accuracy of the TargetPro gives shooters exactly what they need to hone their skills and earn their stripes in both the woods and in competition.

I bought this rifle in the mid 1980's. The only difference is that I have micrometer adjustable rear sights, but all else looks the same. I spent many, many hours shooting pine cones from my neighbor's trees and bottle caps from 25 yards. That was 30 years ago and this rifle hasn't lost a thing. Still dead-on accurate and reliable. I learned the basics of marksmanship with in and am now using it to teach my children. I am glad I bought it and will continue to shoot it another 30 years. I would not hesitate to recommend this rifle to any adult-sized shooter.

Im only 14 and been shooting for about three years. this gun is great for target practice. ive only been able to shoot in my basement because its getting to april so its really rainy. i constantly rip out the bullseye of a gamo paper target which is a half inch in diameter at about 27'. it has a muzzlebreak that can be removed but i would only take it off for sighting a scope with a boresighter. i removed the tru glo stick in the front sight and now im getting those half inch groups all the time. ive only been able to use crosman pointed hunting pellets so far but i have daisy wadcutters on the way. THE GUN ONLY SHOOTS A MAX VELOCITY OF 500 FPS, thats what it says on the box. it has, i believe, a synthetic 11mm dovetail grove. i hate directions just like most men, so i figured everything out in about 10 mins. i love the indexing clip( ii recommend getting more, itll be so much fasterwhen shooting) the gun was perfectly sighted out of the box. i am a wimpy kid and love nature so i wont kill anything unless its a crow or a bird already in misery. this is a great gun for people who are just getting into competition shooting. i myself like scopes but till i have the money to buy a leapers 3-9x40AO scope i love the removable pin sights. this was a temporary gun until i get money for a gamo cfx, but if this gun continues to shoot like this, i may never get that cfx. I LOVE THIS GUN.. very accurate.

this gun is amazing. i got this gun about 2 months ago and i already put about 400 pellets threw it. i put a 4x32 scope on it. i shoot this gun in my backyard. my backyard is about 30 yards big. and i put targets out and shoot at them all day. this gun is more of a target practice gun. but if you are like me and like to do both and go varmit hunting this gun is amazing for both. i got my first bird today from about 20 yards.

This is an outstanding gun, it has a nice composite stock a steel barrel and receiver, there are some small plastic parts but it is only used in places that won’t affect the quality of the gun. It has a good sturdy realistic feel to it and the power is perfect, powerful enough for the kids to enjoy it but not as dangerous as most adult air guns. Accuracy is right on, at first I was only getting ¾ inch groupings at 30’ but that was do to my old eyes. Since the kids like scopes I mounted an old Tasco 2-7x20 scope on it, now I’m getting groupings under 3/8 of an inch and that’s just resting the gun across a tree branch, I’m sure with a bench and some sand bags to rest it on you could start stacking the pellets on top of each other. One small note about the clip, it helps to lightly lube the mechanism under the clip and rub a little gun oil into the rubber clip. I didn’t do this at first and it took several shots before the clip started self indexing. I have only tried RWS pellets in it so far, it likes the RWS hobby and super point pellets best.

I have had this rifle for quite some time now and have hunted with it extensively. But I cannot in good concsience recommend this for hunting anything bigger than a pigeon with it. Everytime I have shot a squirrel at further than 10 yards it has taken a 2nd shot to finish the job, the product itself is great and I enjoy shooting it, but if you are looking for a " hunting" air rifle please be aware of your choice

I got this rifle last month. It is well designed and super accurate. The kit that I got had very basic scope with it. I installed the scope and although it worked well but I didn't like it. It was not a clear vision scope so if you'd like to enjoy this rifle spend some extra bucks and buy a better scope for it. The rife itself is awesome. You can simply have on bullet on the previous bullet hole. It is not a very powerful air gun, but considering the accuracy you always have the chance to target the head. In Canada I believe this is the best that you can by without PAL license.

We've only had the Daisy 953 for a few weeks, but my son & I already like it a lot. It's weighted correctly for target shooting, has a nice grip, and shoots pretty tight groups. The sights are upgradable, and the price is perfect for that young person who wants to try out target shooting. Really, my only complaint is the relatively high trigger pull force. If the Daisy 853 or 753 are on your wish list but their prices are way out of reach, this may be for you.

Can you add a scope and still be able to use the gun sights for a quick close range shoot. Thank you

asked Bill

Is the stock long enough for adult shooters? Or is it tailored for younger shooters? Length of pull is?

asked Dwight

yes - nice air rifle - low powered and very accurate - fits most sizes. Length of pull is not precision but a little extra thought and bullseye. New shooters are able to hit from 40 feet with surprising accuracy.

josh from USA

Can you kill small game (birds)?

asked Mike

I live by the rule, eat what you kill. Coyotes are my only exception.

Jim Nolan

Yes We bought it for and use it for birds and squirrels in our chicken coup The clip and available extra clips make it much more user friendly then a single shot model Awesome for the price!!!!

Tom from USA

How quiet is it?

asked Tony

Probably the quietest air rifle you can get and still have enough punch to take out pests in your yard. Sounds like a blip. I use it for night time rat sniping in my backyard with no worries of alerting the neighbors, or putting a pellet through a fence picket.

Bill

What's the trigger like? Does it have a lot of creep and/or overtravel? What's the weight of pull on the trigger? Thank you.

asked Leo

The trigger is basically that of a $100 air gun, not great, but not bad. theres a fair amount of creep, but its $100 after all.

Jake from USA

Can a scope be added to this?

asked Nicholas from USA

Yes, theres space for an 11mm dovetail scope.

Jake from USA

I have a 12 yr old daughter that likes this...how hard is it to pump?

asked Dean

She shouldnt have much problem with this at all.

Jake from USA

Is it powerful?

asked jack

It shoots .177 cal pellets at around 500-550 fps, so mediocre.

Conor from USA

Does this rifle have the capability to have a scope mounted to it? Or any other mounting rails?

asked Sam

Yes, it has 11mm dovetail rails.

Liam

With this only having one pump, how is the power?

asked tim from USA

I`ve shot starlings with it at 60` no problem...

Jerry

Its enough to knock over cans and pierce an empty soda can. Other than that, not much power can be expected

Jake from USA

How loud is this gun?

asked Will

Very quiet, like really quiet.
