Get your hands on an 840 model pump rifle. I'm having a blast with the one I stumbled on...??
Pros
Well for starters I've never been a serious firearms enthusiast. I can count the times I've been hunting in my 57 years. However I do know enough about guns to respect them and appreciate them... Like today for instance. The wife and I are staying in her family's estate home while we make plans to haul a house on my property. The lot where a nice little abode stood until a hurricane had other plans for it. Exactly one year ago.
Anyway during our stay here she goes on these treasure hunts of old family belongings like old toys, books and sorted other items. Well today she stumbled onto this cool little thing I'm starting to fall in love with. It's a Daisy 840 pump rifle and man this thing has me feeling like Lucas Mcain. The accuracy of this BB rifle is pretty amazing in my book. I'm popping random targets in the yard like I'm holding a Lazer... I kid you not. We're not sure who it belongs to. But I'm praying they forgot about it...???? You guys make a good product and that's a fact.
Cons
None worth mentioning

I have had this gun for over 4 years and the performance has been amazing. The FPS has stayed the same and the barrel is in great shape. This gun has gone through multiple rainstorms but there is no difference. I took it apart, dried it out, and lubed it. It worked very well to this day. I give it 10 out of 5 stars because most BB guns break within a year. A great hit by daisy.
Pros
It's all good.
Cons
The pellets are kind of hard to insert but you get used to it really quickly.
It is ok for target shooting and close range small bird hunting
Pros
Easy to cock and load
Cons
Not very much power
I'm 14 now, and I got it when I was 11 years old as a gift from my dad. It is really fun to shoot because it's so accurate and it has quite a good sight. I have a friend who is a hunter, and I would like to start hunting too. The gun got me to want to hunt. Can't wait! Powerful enough to go straight through an aluminum can. Last Christmas I thought it would be funny to get my sister a Daisy Red Ryder from A Christmas Story, I taught her everything on how to aim, load, oil and do everything. But, the Grizzly still kicked the Red Ryder's butt. I love it, the sleek look, the sound and feel when you make that target you've been trying to hit for 45 minutes, all of it. Great gift. Thanks dad.
Pros
Great sight, It'll kill a bird, or a small squirrel,(i have not done so but i have heard of it) Good feel. Overall good first shot.
Cons
You'll shoot yer eye out kid.
Made deal with son...if he gets nothing lower than a B on his 3rd grade school assignments he would get a BB gun...what a motivator!! It worked!! Great gun for young kids to learn the sport of shooting. The camo look hooks them in, the easy one pump saves me from having to pump another type all afternoon, and the distance it shoots keeps the kids from getting in much trouble.
Let's face it...everything is $100 these days, so I feel my $50 investment got him to keep mom happy with good grades, it gets him outside away from electronics, and gives us a chance to shoot together. (See my review on the Ruger Air-Magnum...another great buy !!)
He is already asking what he gets if he brings home A's...I told him an AR is out of the picture...
In closing, it isn't about what you are paying for the gun...it is what you can get out of it if you do it right. Sure I could have bought a used video game and saved some money, but you can't put a price on the time we hang together now talking about all the big sparrows that got away..
Now go on....place the order...
Pros
Kids love the look.
Easy to use.
Just enough power for a kid.
Great way to send time with your kids...
I got the model 840 when I was 10 years old. My grandpa gave it to me and before it was mine it was my uncles. It has been in the family ever since. I still shoot it and, to this day, it still has the power and accuracy I got with it when I was little. This gun is great for new shooters and target practice. It's a blast to shoot and accurate as well!
Pros
I love the sights and the feel of the gun, I just love this gun!
Cons
low fps
I bought this for my 2 boys to teach them basics of Safety and marksmanship. The gun is well proportioned, reasonably accurate, and easy for them to use. They love it, and are constantly asking to go shooting with it.
Pros
appearance, accuracy, size
Cons
Velocity is slightly less than expected
This gun is my first bb gun and it is great. I would reccomend this for beginners and people who just want to shoot things in their yard.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product. Is there anywhere I can buy replacement parts for this gun or do you know what this piece is called?
asked NathanIs this gun really as good as it seems or do you have another suggestion?
asked Jake from USAAs far as a youth plinker goes, this is pretty good. If your looking for a long range more mature plinker, go with a breakbarrel.177 or a PCP. If your looking for a hunter, go wit a breakbarrel .22
Jake from USACan you kill game and other small animals such as birds and squirrels with this?
asked Jake from USANo, not really.
Johnwhere are they located i kinda dont want to ship i might come and bic it up myself
asked ashOur address is: 12453 S. 265 W. Suite F Draper, UT 84020
Scott from USAIs the stock plastic?
asked johnYes, it is plastic.
Conor from USADoes this gun have any plastic on it?
asked johnYes, the stock is plastic along with the pump arm and everything but internals and the barrel.
Conor from USAwill it damage the gun if you pump it over 1 time? I don't believe a second stroke adds any power to the gun at all. regardless, I would just use the single pump since there is no reason to pump any extra.
asked James from USAcan u send me this gun in my country
asked omerThank you for you interest. For questions about international ordering/shipping please email us at [email protected]. This so we can better help you.
Steve from USAAre buyers of this particular bb gun satisfied with power, quality & accuracy?
asked DonWith quality & accuracy, yes. With power, no. This gun is for like 12 year old kids as a first gun.
jordancan you small game hunt birds and other small game with this rifel and can you use .177 hunting pellets and clips with this
asked ernieYes you can drop birds with this and some other small game. You can use any pellets as long as they're .177 but i don't know if you can use clips with this gun.
James from USAit says bbs and pellets then says only bbs so which is it
asked TylerIt is both bbs and pellets, but only bbs can be loaded into the hopper, pellets have to be loaded in one shot at a time.
Steve from USAhow many pumps are required for max velocity...lost manual years ago
asked paul seedIt's a single pump, two at most.
Cousin Vinnydo not pumpmore than 10 times it will break the seals of the bb or pelit gun
austin gettler8-10 pumps is sufficient. All these pump guns have a a built in pressure release valve to prevent over pumping from damaging the gun.
Scott from USA
Always respect gun rules, a great starter to train a responsible youth.
Pros
I bought my model 840 in 1982 and it has been used a lot, and I mean A LOT. but when I am done with it I always put it away in it's original box. It's 2022 and my son's and I still use it. It still works fantastic while all of the other BB guns we have had have all stopped working. I'm looking to buy another 840 for my youngest son based on the 40 years of performance of the one I currently have. TOP NOTCH GUN !
