Good kids starter bb gun
I received it in good condition. I like the fact you only need to cock it once per shot. I was shock that I actually shot a chipmunk at about 50ft and it penetrated him lifeless on the bird feeder. He has been eating the bird seed at the feeder and scaring the birds off. I have only had it a few weeks so it's hard to say more. For a one cock rifle it does better than I would have expected. It came with silver BB's and targets + Safety glasses . The rifle was ready to use out of the box. Just load the BB's and shot.
It's agresrfirstfbto teach gun safety, how to shoot properly, did this with my children as well. Fond memories of my father doing this with the same BB gun with myself and my sister. Now I am creating good memories, while developing smart gun wise grandchildren.
This is the second year that we purchased 5 Red Ryder B B guns. They are prizes for kids at an outdoor event. The Red Ryder rifled always get chosen first. Great quality, reliable and fun. A super gun for youngsters to learn with. Highly recommended these!!
Pros
Great learning gun for kids. Boys and girls!
We give these away in a raffle once a year. Of all the outdoor oriented kids prizes the Daisy BB guns always go first. And it's not just kids, their Dads want them, too. Of all BB guns the Daisy is our choice. They are easy for kids to learn to shoot, accurate and fun!!
I bought this gun because when I was young, my friend had one, and I was actually a better shot with it than he was!! It really is a very good gun for teaching young ones to shoot, and handle firearms safely.
The only reason I did not give this a full 5 stars is because of the plastic cocking lever, and the fact that it does jam a little sometimes. Although I have found that if I face the sights down, while pointing the barrel up, the gun does not jam as much. And, I must say that even though the lever is plastic, it seems to be sturdy enough, and I hope it will last a long time!! Great little BB gun!!!
Pros
Light weight
Surprisingly accurate
Large capacity
Target kit with safety glasses - nice feature!
Very reasonable price
Cons
Plastic cocking lever
Sharp edges on some of the wood (which I rounded off)
Jams a little
Purchased for a grandson as his first introduction to target shooting and to learn gun safety Perfect size and a great choice
Great starter air rifle for all ages 10 and up, feels solid with the nice wood stock and accurate enough for fun plinking and target shooting up to 30 feet or more. Excellent trainer for rifle safety basics introduction.
Pros
Wood stock - good feel.
Cocks easily for rapid fire action.
Very little maintenance required.
Low price.
Cons
Too much plastic in the lever action, trigger and safety, but it appears durable enough for the price.
Nice little gun easy to cock for the little ones pretty accurate great for target practice.

Login to ask someone who bought this product. Can you ship to Thailand. BB guns are unregulated here. A local store had them but sold out before I could get one.
asked Matthew LongDo you ship to Philippines ? If not, how can I order this product and ship to me without restrictions.
asked JosephHi how quiet are the Bb guns a long time since I shot one.. Are they very accurate ? I only want to kill the Grackels and Cowbirds > The range is max 12 feet will this suffice ? Thank you Mario
asked MarioIn comparison with my vintage BB guns, the current ones are more quiet. But I would not recommend them for killing Grackels or Cowbirds. They are not powerful enough to kill, no matter what range. all you would do is injure and would take many shots to finally kill them. That is if you don't mind them suffering until they die.
Joehow big the gun is?
asked arturs35.4 inches long.
Mark from USAIs the gun made in the USA? does anyone know of any BB guns that are made in the USA?
asked DAwnIm sorry to say this gun is made in China. The BBs are also made in China. I had one as a child and it was an excellent gun. The new version is no where near like the one of old. It does not like to chamber true BBs half the time and Im certain it has way less fps than the ones we grew up with. I bought one for my eight year old son and he and myself were disappointed. It was sad, due to my fond childhood memories. The majority of all Crosman air guns are built in the USA, and their Copperhead BBs are made in the USA also. I bought the new revised 760 pump master and it is light, very accurate, easy to pump, and built in the US. I paid on sale $22.95. I think they were not aware of the company selling the old version cheaper to clear out the remaining stock. That air rifle has been made since 1966. I say those things about Daisy with a heavy heart, and after 125 years I wish I never had to.
Daisy Red RyderBox says made in China.
John from USAwhere in the philippine can we buy this daisy 1938 red ryder what gun store? Thanks
asked gloriaGloria, We are not sure, you would have to call around to the local gun dealer or sporting good stores. You could also contact our International Shipping Department at [email protected]. They can answer any questions you might have. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team
Scott from USAHow does one go about unjamming a red ryder bb gun?
asked albahraniClear the jam and pump it 5 times to clear. After it is clear, add a couple drops of oil.
Robert KingIs this rifle pump action or do you use air cartridges?
asked MarcMarc, The Daisy Red Ryder 1938 BB Gun is pump action. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team
Scott from USAWhy doesn't it have a compass in the stock?
asked RalphieOut of stock means we don't have any at the moment. We will be ordering more.
Scott from USAWould this BB gun be good for a twelve year old boy?
asked JulioAs a first gun yes it is. If the child has experience shooting, and wants to move to small game like rabbits then no it is not since it is not powerful enough for rabbits. But as a first time gun yes it is a great choice.
Manuel from USAYou make International shipping? THanks
asked DamianTry checking out at the sight and if there is a restriction you will get a warning before you purchase the product. There are a lot of different regulations for all different countries and they are always changing, so we have set up an automatic warring if there is a product, based on your location, that is forbidden. Shipping price always changes, but you should be able to see the final price before you complete your purchase.
Scott from USAI lost the box and manual, the gun cocks and shoots but will not shoot a BB. The directions on the gun says, put on safe, cock, feed BB, aim, and fire. How do I feed the BB?
asked mikeGo on line and download a new manual.
Harvey from USAWhere is this gun made? Is it made in China or somewhere other than the USA?
asked Orval L. WrightMADE IN THE USA SINCE 1938!
Manuel from USAi live in australia will this be able to be shipped to me
asked joshJosh, There are certain restrictions when shipping abroad. The best way to find out if we are able to ship to Australia would be creating an order. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care
Scott from USAdoes it come in a box or is it shrink wrapped cardboard?
asked rickWe ship our products in boxes.
Scott from USAI'm a single mom and know absolutely nothing about BB guns! I have a 10 year old son that has been begging me for one and I thought this might be the year. My question is, would you recommend this for a child this age? He is not a little fella so I'm not worried about the gun being too heavy or big but rather the accuracy of the shot. If he aims for the target it's not going to go somewhere way off the mark and accidentally hit the neighbors dog or something? And also... is it even something he can practice in the backyard or would I have to take him somewhere out in the country to shoot? Our yard is average, we're not far apart but we are not on top of each other either. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated! I really want to make this happen for him but I also want to be careful and keep him and others safe. Thanks! Lisa
asked LisaIts a fun gun and the FPS or power the air rifle produces will not cause serious injuries to the body except vulnerable areas such as the eye in case he is careless. Its a great starter air rifle. I enjoyed it for years and the BBs are inexpensive and its quiet which will make it a good shooter indoors with a safe backstop.
DavidIt's a great gift for his age. Take him with you and find some wooden are and let him get use to gun at a distance. At your home make sure he knows where to point. A bale of straw at lowes will be a great back drop. The gun will not shoot through it. His age and size will work great for his 1st gun. Just keep a watch on him the first few times. I know he will not be disappointed with the gun. He will have a lot of fun with this gun and he is a great age.
Don from USAI want to get my brother this for Christmas. He is 50 years old this year, and always wanted a Red Ryder BB gun. Is it worth it for this price? Someone said it was a plastic gun? I don't want to get something that will fall apart on him. Thanks for your help!
asked LindaThis great gun. Well made and has a wood stock. Your brother will be pleased! I love shooting my eight year old's Red Ryder.
John from USAI had this as a kid and it was a lot of fun to shoot. You can shoot cans accurately at 15 yards indoor or out. Its quiet, and cheap. Its a fun plinker when he wants to get a few shots out in the backyard or in the garage. As an adult he may want a pellet gun with more FPS. Anything above 500 FPS can cause serious injuries. Most are at the 600 to 1000 FPS. The Daisy shoots in the upper 200 FPS, enough to bruise but not break the skin. Its a very durable BB gun that should last for years.
DavidIs this all plastic? Does it have a wood stock?
asked GILBERTYes, it's a wood Stock.
Don from USACan this gun be used to hunt rabbits?
asked JonNo, I tried to get a rabbit from the age of ten through 16 although it made me an excellent shot by most standards. I was raised in a small farm community in Northern Indiana so I had a lot of opportunities to shoot at one. Then I discovered girls and my life hasn't been the same since.
T. DemassNo it cannot. It is not powerful enough.
Conor from USADo you ship to South Africa, and what is the shipment cost for this.
asked Gerrit PutterGerrit Putter, Yes, we do ship to South Africa if the right permits are obtained. The cost of shipping depends on what is being shipped. You can calculate it on our website. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team
Steve from USATo those of you who have owned the gun for over 6 months, have you experienced any problems?
asked ThomasI bought one 4 yrs ago to go my Leg Lamp. Of course I had to shoot it. Never have I had any problems with it. I have not shot it that much but I guess around 400 times in the last 4 yrs just for fun.
Don from USABOSS!!!
princessHi there! I got this red ryder bb gun in its box in real nice shape gun works fine can't find a date the box has Cowboys and Indians, the western thing, I think its from the 60s maybe 70s. Can you give some info on this? Thanks.
asked richard BergstromWHAT IS THE FT PER SECOND ON THIS GUN
asked BRUCE QUALEYNot enough FPS to kill anything but a bird if you are into that, which I don't recommend unless you are shooting down pesty crows at close range. If you want to shoot varmits, then you should get something in 500 FPS plus range. 280 FPS will likely not break skin.
David280 fps.
Conor
Pros
Nothing. The bb gun did not work.
Cons
Not order one of your items again.
