Field Target Air Rifles
Field Target Competition is one of the most challenging ways to test your shooting skills. Started in Great Britain in 1980, field target was originally devised to mimic hunting scenarios. The guns used where simple, break barrel pellet rifles, very similar to what you might find at a local sporting goods store. Over time the sport has evolved, PCP guns have become the norm along with powerful telescopic sights used for both aiming and estimating the range to the targets. A typical competition will consist of 40 individual targets set up on 20 different lanes with two targets per lane. Shots are taken from kneeling, standing, and prone positions from distances between 8 and 55 yards. Check out some of our staff picks for our favorite target rifles!
