Have only shot a various group of air guns and have to say this is some serious power. The sight I can see being in question however have refined it and now have been shooting in in 2.5 inch circle diameter at 30 yards 50 percent of the Time and just outside the other 50 percent. However in saying so you really have to be aggressive with it or it will take you for a ride....in my opinion.

Pros
Power,look, feel,

Cons
Sight could be better

My father in law has this gun, and i ddnt really know the make or model, until i spotted it on this website. I ddnt know the specs. Without knowing that it shoots at an impressive 1200 fps, i couldve told u it was powerful. Just yesterday i shot a possum in my back yard with it (it ddnt flinch!). These animals are tough skinned! So i kept walkin about its business. I thought id missed but 15 ft later down his stroll his hind legs were just being dragged along by his fron two lol. I was impressed that I'd hit this thing with a scope that at 10pm wasn't showing anything due to lack of lighting. But even more so with the power of it . Great gun.

I am disappointed with this Gamo Hornet Air Rifle with the 4x32 scope. I am an excellent shooter and I have fired 20 rounds of Gamo Pellets into a target and adjusted to every 2nd shot. It shoots 3 to 5 inches different each time?? I have checked the scope mounts and everything is secure. I don't know what to do with it except NEVER count on it if I was to run up on a large snake. Also a very poor quality scope.

Cons
Does NOT shoot consistently and has a very poor quality scope.

I have owned a gamo hornet for a little over a year, I haven't been able to get it to shoot consistent. I use the artillery hold while shooting, have 3 different AO rated scopes and numerous different pellets The gun will not even shoot through one side of a coffee can. I will not purchase another gamo again.

Pros
Looks good, easy to load and cock.

Cons
Doesn't shoot consistent and has no power

I use this gun primarily for small game hunting and it works great.I put a 3-9x40 scope on it from center point and It works phenomenal the scope that comes with it is crappy I used that as a spotting scope. it drops rabbits and squirrels out to 60 yards with ease. any pellet works. I would

Pros
accuracy weight fps stopping power hunting

Cons
scope that comes with it

I chose this gun to take back my yard's territory from ground squirrels who's tunnels were weakening the integrity of large hillside. After failed attempts of peaceful negotiations to get them to move out, the Gamo Hornet using the RWS Superdome .177 cal pellets were employed. I don't have much experience with scopes as far as quality/features go, but it magnified my target well enough for me to shoot it and once sighted in, the scope hasn't moved out of alignment. Perhaps it is because I used thread lock on the screws as the instructions suggest. In any case, this gun is a true value for the price!

Pros
Price, deadly accurate at 40-50 feet (limited to shooters capacity), comes with a scope that works in the general sense, the scope also comes with covers- one of them is tinted yellow which helped keep the glare out, plus the gun just looks cool and is fairly light to hold.

What is the most accurate pellet for this gun and what is a good 3-9 scope that would work good on it, also does anyone know how to make the trigger smoother? Thanks for your help and bird count 7!!!!

asked CJ

bigtime 1on1.mine likes crossman magum 10.5 and i changed my scope to a center point 4x32 this combination puts the hornet in class by it self. i can shoot top off perscription pill bottle at 90 feet ,luv this gun!

bryant daye

Where is it manufactured? What is the weight of the package to be sent?

asked Charly

Is this website a rip off or is it safe to buy from? Does this gun shoot pellets?

asked Nick

Best gun for the buck. Have 3 Gamo guns now and will buy more . Just have to go over all the bolts .

Ronnie

No this website is not a ripoff this is my go to website for any airgun products or guns I want and this gun is the one I'm using now yes it uses pellets and it is amazing very accurate with crosman hollow points and mounted with a bipod makes it bad ass and even greater if you want a very good gun for a very low price get this gun and purchase all you need from this website

Kyle from USA

I have been searching for pellet guns and in the reviews they say it has a junk scope I was wondering wat was bad about it

asked Jeremy rys

Its just a basic scope and the magnification is what you would expect from a 4x32 but besides that the gun is amazing and I've never had a problem with the scope either.

Kyle from USA

The scope is OK .But the gun is right on 50 yard shots 1/2 groups. The heaver the pellets the better the groups

Ronnie

Is it loud? I don't want to upset my neighbors.

asked Jesse

No it is not loud at all I shoot mine in my backyard mostly.

CJ

I cannot get this rifle to sight in. Any suggestions?

asked jackson

I have the same problem . Tried to adjust the scope and after fifty plus shots I just can't get it set. Finally took off the scope and was able to hit the bulls-eye every time . I don't know why Gamo uses this scope maybe to fool buyers. I would rather pay more and get better quality. Don't waste your time-can it .the rifle itself is excellent.

Rich

Hi, I have a Gamo Hornet, and would like to know how I could get the trigger pull to lighten up. I was also wondering if you can adjust the length of the trigger pull.

asked jim Peterson

Would this rifle take down a rabbit and/or other small game?

asked jamie

Yes it will I think the gun is really fun

Gary

hiya was just wondering if this came with a bag and how u could deliver thanks gemma

asked gemma binks

Gemma, This particular rifle does not include a carrying case. Sincerely, The Airgun Depot Customer Care Team

Scott from USA

does it shoot bbs and pellets or just bbs or just pellets

asked Alijah from USA

Just Pellets

Scott from USA

Is this reliable and accurate?

asked Dennis

Yes, I used the Gamo Hornet in my yard and shot an amount of approximately 700 pellets at a distance of 100 feet from my card and continued with good pressure and Presision.

JOSE from USA

hi can i order it from Pakistan? if it is possible then i want to know about the amount of delivery charges.

asked bobby

Try checking out at the sight and if there is a restriction you will get a warning before you purchase the product. There are a lot of different regulations for all different countries and they are always changing, so we have set up an automatic warring if there is a product, based on your location, that is forbidden. Shipping price always changes, but you should be able to see the final price before you complete your purchase.

Scott from USA

My son received a hornet for Xmas and got back in town last night to use it for the first time. After struggling with using the site around 25 ft I decided to remove it and put a grouping together within 3 inches free site. without making any adjustments whatsoever each shot was completely random and varied from hi & to the right, low and to the right, dead on to low and to the left. i think i have a bad scope. Seems as when we did make any adjustments the cross hairs never changed. Frustrated !!

asked Be

To whom it my concern, If you are having trouble being consistent when using both the scope and free sight, then the problem might be in the gun or the quality of the pellets being used. If the problem persists, please contact our customer call center at 1-866-477-4867. Sincerely, Airgun Depot Customer Care

Steve from USA

What is the best ammo to use for this gun?

asked nick

I've used gamo pellets, crosman pellets, daisy pellets, even RWS pellets- the gamos are great, and alright for the price. RWS is my favorite, but they are even pricier. Crosman, being fun to shoot, gives you the best bang for your buck. Just steer clear of the daisy pellets, unless you're a penny pincher. More or less, the hornet will shoot any .177 pellet (or at least mine did). Just buy the thing- it'll be worth it.

larry

Best ammo for this gun is pellets.

Scott from USA

Is this gun powerful enough to kill any small game like squirrel or rabbits?

asked Sam

I bought this gun primatly for shooting gophers up until now I had been useing a 22 pistol this gun is cheaper to operate yhan a 22 and does not panic the neighbors but this gun is fine for plinking off a squrel or a cotton tail for the dinner table.

George W. Hines

I own the Gamo Hornet; find it to be too loud using the Gamo blueflame pellet. Will shooting a heavier pellet lower the noise level? Any suggestion as to the weight?

asked Don S

As Leonard said, faster moving pellets are your solution. Hypersonic pellets Tend to be quieter but don't always have the force you need. I would suggest The Gammo Tomahawk round as a happy medium.

Kevin from USA

I found crosman pellets to be not as loud, as the faster moving pellets.
