The varmint is a very well rounded air rifle. If youve never shot rifles before this is the perfect rifle for you or if you would like to teach your children or somebody else safety, this is great you can do anything from vomiting to hunting with this gun, rats and mice and squirrels, do not stand a chance when you have this gun in hand, but if you do not have the best accuracy in the world when you start out, check all of your screws and make sure theyre tight and the scope is pretty much junk so get you a new one

Pros
The things I like, was the price the quality of what I get for that price and the fact that for the price of this rifle, it is very very good it is very accurate. It is very good stock easy caulking, easy, easy loading.

Cons
I would possibly put a shroud on it to quiet it down and give it a trigger, and possibly even a ram instead of a spring piston

The individual fun with this plinker, but mostly bringing new shooters into the sport and teaching them gun safety and not to be afraid. With a single shot you can teach slowly and feel you can manage the shooter to prevent inadvertent mistakes. I should have done this a long time ago!

Pros
What a sweet little rifle at an unbelievably low price! At 25 feet, out of the box and mounting the scope, the first shots were on paper. After about 4 adjustments, I could put 3 shots inside an inch on the bullseye. I did the same going out to 50 feet for groundhogs. More importantly, my young grand daughters had a blast charging the system, loading the pellet, and plinking at multiple targets. They got quite good and they have never fired any gun, so this was good first step for firearm training. I was impressed with the entire process from ordering, shipping, and timing. The cost is affordable and even though you pay shipping, these costs too are reasonable. This is my first pellet gun and I should have bought one much sooner.

Unboxed it. First pellet i tried was the H&N Barracuda match 10.6gr. Less than 10 shots had it surrounding a 1/2” bullseye at 20 yard or so. Never tried a different pellet in it. No need. First shot punched the pellet 1/2” into a 2x6 fence top rail. It’s no 17HMR but it’s really accurate and it’s fun to shoot. The trigger is pretty good. I have a crosman F4 from Walmart also. That trigger is garbage compared to the Varmint. At least the gamo trigger breaks somewhat clean without having to pull it across the street.

Pros
Light weight, low price, good trigger, accurate, well built

Cons
Not much. Maybe a little better scope

Your really going to love this pellet rifle. Change scope, go 3-9x40 ao or higher. I shoot 50 feet, I hit flies off diaper at this distance, smear on paper plate that is push pinned on cardboard, wait for the flies gotta love it got 25 one day. Good day!!!! Lots a fun I got a great set up in back yard. Bail of hay, metal plate for back stop pellets gets smashed.

Pros
WoW, what an accurate rifle. Shooting a 9.3 grain pellet through it ,makes it so accurate. Good match-up to your favorite pellet will also give you good bullseye shots. Got mine paired up with a 3-9x40 so tasco scope. Actually, I have 3 Gamo varmits. Each one shoots rws 9.3 gr wadcutter pellets. So accurate in wind or no wind. In Arizona, its mostly dry,no wind perfect for me to shoot all my pellet rifles. These rifles are so good, I can shoot candles out at 50 feet. Of course you have to get a scope for it no iron sights. Rather have scope anyway, demand precision. I demand precision from all my pellet rifles. Gamo varmit gives me all t bgg e precision I need to be able to shoot accurately all day long, even through the night like me and my candles. Really love the re-lite candles, able to shoot with scope and gamo varmit. Gotta get this pellet rifle. You will love it I did,3 times. First one was accurate, so surprised how accurate, I kept buying.

Cons
I would not change one thing, wouldn't even put iron sights on, want people to experience the pleasure of using a scope. Rifle is so much fun to shoot with a good scope, not like the one that came with it. Gotta change scope..

Watch some YouTube videos and learn how to disassemble, deburr and degrease your rifle. I did a DIY tune in my Varmint with a plastic pop bottle. I made a spring guide in the piston and added to the rear guide also, making a much tighter package, cutting down on spring vibration. My Varmint likes the Air Arm Falcon 7.33. Shoots 10 shots under a dime at 20 yards. It took a rabbit out by my guarden at 18 yards right through the head. Lastly you don't need a super magnum to pest or hunt with, the Varmint will fill the bill and save you $200 and scope breaking headaches. This riffle is great for a starter rifle or for the seasoned Airgunner??.

Pros
Price is right ??. Very accurate. More than enough power to hunt small game with. Light weight. Polimer stock can take a beating and not break your heart lol. Easy to cook. Trigger is a medium weight pull. Easy to take apart and work on. Did I say the price was right, lol, got mine for $99.

Cons
Put a CAT trigger in this rifle would help with accuracy. Offer it in 22 caliber also would be nice. A set of open sights would be nice too.

How many pumps?

asked Jeff from USA

This is a break-barrel rifle. You cannot pump the gun. Flip open the barrel, load a pellet, close the barrel, then you can shoot.

Brian from USA

My question is did anybody experience this type of incident with this rifle. I must say that I was so impressed with my whisper wildcat that I purchased the varmint from my local on line walmart i got the rifle from fed ex after whom ever decided too slam it barrel first i checked the box WOW! now the barrel has sever barrel wobble the lock between both rifles is like one of 1.500 shoots i thought it was new the whisper tight as a hand pick ruger pistol off the line i have gotten lucky enough too of held one just asking now i know what walmart means when they say no returns it is the break barrel varmint177. long time shooter i hope everybody else has a better experience.
