While most other air pistols are pretty limited, the Hatsan AT P2 tactical air pistol has built-in versatility...you don't have to attach the shoulder stock to shoot it. And if you do attach it, you have 4" of play in the length of pull, making it adjustable for just about any size shooter. Also, the comb is vertically adjustable helping you acquire your open or optical sights. If you shoot mostly spinner, tin cans and paper targets, the .177-caliber air gun would be your best choice. If hunting or pest elimination are tops on your list then select .22 or .25 caliber. They'll offer the greatest energy levels and help you quickly, humanely dispatch rats, mice, rabbits, squirrels, groundhogs and nutria (coypu) at close distances.

I bought this gun as a brush gun and I got mostly the results I expected. This gun will group ragged one hole groups ( off a Bog Pod) out to 21 yards and then spread to about a quarter size at 31 yards. I installed a Nikon 1.5 - 4.5 x 20 BDC 600 scope that does well at the range the gun is capable. Best pellet so far has been the H N Field Target Trophy 19.91 grain followed by JSB Exact Kings 25.39 grain. If you plan to backpack I would buy this model over the QE Model simply because you can remove a suppressor (as I use) to make packing in a backpack easier. I am getting about 9 to 12 usable shots per fill hence the need to purchase extra air cylinders if you plan to have an extended shooting session in the field. The spare cylinders are easy to remove, install, and can be refilled with a hand pump. One thing you should know if you purchase this gun is if it is shipped with an empty air reservoir as mine was you will need to remove it to fill it the first time. It needs pressure to keep the hammer from pressing the air valve open.

Pros
Very accurate at short range....better than I expected with only a 10 inch barrel. It is easy to pack and carry to the field.

Cons
Not enough shots per fill, no sling attachments, a little heavy, and loud without a suppressor.

I love this gun. It works as a pistol as well as a carbine for me, my 12 year old son can enjoy it with me with minor adjustments in 30 sec and it provides the kind of performance which makes it a seriously competitive airgun. Great fun, well worth the price.

I have two other Hatsan guns, a AT44PA and a Galatian and I like them both a lot so I was supprised at the condition this gun was received in. The elevation adjustment is missing off the rear sight and when I loaded some cleaning pellets into the magazine to clean the barrel I found out that the magazine does not rotate when the gun is cocked. I have sent an E-Mail to Hatsan USA about these issues and I do believe that the problem will be rectified. I do like the look and feel of the gun. It is BIG but seems to have a good balance to it. Hoping to get on the range with it tomorrow.

Pros
Look and feel. Fits me hand well even for its size.

Cons
Condition it was received in. Think Hatsan needs to tighten up their Quality Assurance some.

Like others commented, this pistol is loud when shot with out some type of sound moderator. It's accuracy even surprised me on how good this air gun shoots. Using the adjustable stock greatly improves the accuracy with a standing shot since the pistol is on the heavy side. You will get a slight but perceptible muzzle rise when fired.

Since I like quiet, I made a sound attenuator that makes this the quietest air gun I have ever shot and no need for any ear protection. Overall, a great hard hitting pistol.

Pros
Love how quick it is to fill from a large SCUBA type tank. I have used CO2 (about 1000 PSI = 480 fps), nitrogen and argon, the latter two are filled from large high pressure tanks and have no moisture in them. It takes less than 30 seconds to insert, pressurize, vent and remove the brass charging device. Don't need to worry about not having a "quick couple" securely fastened.

Cons
The existing sites are ok, but putting a $40 red dot holographic site did wonders for accuracy. Also a little pricey but "good" is rarely cheap!

The Hatsan ATP 2 is well worth the money. This gun is fun to shoot and very accurate. It is heavy for a pistol, but very manageable in the carbine configuration. I have a scope, LDC, and bipod which gives it a unique looking and very compact rifle. The LDC makes it very quiet. I would recommend this gun to any one. My Hatsan is in 177 Cal.

what is the length without the stock?

asked Yurii from USA

Is this model available with left handed grips?

asked Owen Cole

Currently there are no left handed grips for the Hatsan AT P2 Pistol. i'M SURE SOMEONE WILL COME UP WITH SOMETHING SOON

Bob from USA

No, That is a Question that Others Have Asked About..And I Don't think they make it with Left Handed Grips...(Even Though They Should)...So I'm Afraid Not!..It is, However a Very Accurate Carbine/Pistol!

Richard from USA

The picture and review are of an AT P1, the Hatsan AT P2 is a carbine with an adjustable stock is it not? What is the model shown on the weapon itself?
