This gun is well built and will certainly outlast my lifetime. I have been shooting BB and pellet guns since the early 70s, so that alone tells you I don't have that much time left... Anyhows, as far as springers are concerned, I also have a RWS model 34 and a Hatsan Mod 135, both in 22 and both with wood stocks.
I purchased the Dominator in 25 because opossum's have decided to wander into the backyard and I wanted a gun that I won't need to worry about scratching (not like my wood models). I also wanted something that will kill them with ease and this gun did its job oh so well. I say this is a MANS gun because it does take some heft to cock it, so no pansies need apply. It is also front heavy so you need to have some upper body strength if you shoot a lot while standing.
I used the supplied bi-pod to set up the open sights. The first shot was a flier, but after that one, and a quick cleaning job with a bore snake, I was able to put pellets practically thru the same whole using the bi-pod at about 10 yards. Note: The bi-pod is a bit flimsy but it did its job and I won't likely ever use it again unless I decide to put an optic on it.
Overall, I am very pleased with this gun and really enjoy shooting it.
Pros
Well built, very accurate, scratch resistant, and more than enough power for killing.
Cons
Front heavy, but only wimps will care...this thing has some punch!
This is my most accurate rifle. A lot of fun to shoot. Well put together and cool stock.
Was looking for gun that shot well without a scope and this one is it.
Got two people to buy the same gun they loved it so much.
Pros
Accurate no matter what I do.
Operates nice and smooth.
Cons
None
I recently purchased this rifle and have been surprised at its power. To make sure that I don't injure anyone I built an A frame to hold my targets. It has 1/2" plywood on the front is 2" of dense insulation panel, on the back is a moving blanket and 12 mil plastic. From 30ft the pellet went through this and dented the steel siding of an out building. I added 2" of insulation and another 1/2" of plywood. This worked.
Pros
Very powerful
Cons
A little heavy
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product.I want to buy a hatsan dominator .25 ...who can tell me i is good for hunting ? I hunt ducks and rubbit at least 79m ?
asked Ben
I got an incredible deal right here at AGD. I purchased mine in 25 cal. I own 10 Hatsan rifles, including the 125 sniper .25 cal (Vortex), Torpedo 150 Sniper . 25 cal (Vortex) and the 135 in .30 cal. This is a well built heavy rifle
Pros
Accurate!!! quarto trigger is excellent!
Cons
Unfortunately the FPS is only at about 550 fps with a 25 grain pellet. That is unusual for the Hatsans, they are usually right on or exceed the advertised FPS. I would go with the Vortex piston, more power and no spring "Twang"
