This think has got a heck of a kick! First springer I have ever owned, or even shot. Still learning how to hold it properly using the artillery hold. Found out I have been holding it wrong and that was the reason it was not sighting in. Will keep on learning about shooting it and hopefully can shoot tight groups.
Pros
Powerful. Can't wait to learn how to keep it under control and see what it can do on pests. Beautiful and (to me) exotic.
Cons
Front heavy and kicks like a mule.
Nice rifle shoots straight and quite powerful! Put a good scope on this puppy and is a tack driver
Pros
Bolt action fixed barrel helps accuracy and iron sights are nice
Cons
The bipod they give is cheesy and bulky they should swap that for a sling instead
i just got my torpedo 150 yesterday afternoon and its definitely worth the money. i use the pba gold ammo with this gun and ive only put a few shots through it so far and they seem pretty consistent. im not soo happy with the shipping because it didnt tell me where it was basically until it reached my door. i honestly think fedex should fix this problem but other than that the gun came unharmed with just a couple minor scratches do to shipping i believe. the gun rips tin cans apart and has a nice hard kick that lets you know its got power. i think hatsan should take better care in packaging the product being that the gun had lots of room to move around in the box. ill be shooting some more with this gun and plan on having lots of fun with its and destroying some squirrels and rabbits yummm!! its a solid build and i would recomend this for anyone looking for a powerful .25 cal air rifle.
Pros
heavy and solidly built! pellets are huge lol! its bigger than it looks in pics. all around beautiful gun, glad i got this one
Cons
could use a sling instead of the bipod but thats just a personal opinion :)
So far ive put 200 shots through it and it really is a good shooting gun. Heavier pellets group the best. Mine is the .25 cal.
Pros
Quality of build is very good much better than others that cost more.
Cons
None
I really enjoyed this rifle. So far it has been very accurate with my .22 Daisy Match pellets. The gun is pretty heavy, but overall it has been a great sturdy rifle.
Pros
looks good, accurate, fun to shoot
Cons
heavy.
More powerful than the Benjamin Trail NP 725. Good trigger. Hold sensitive and ammo sensitive. Shoots 1/4" groups at 25 ft with iron sights and Beeman Crow Magnum 26.2 gr hollow point pellets. Good balance and barrel-heavy construction make for a steady and accurate rifle to shoot off-hand. Not too hard to cock with one hand and some muscle (I weigh 160 lb and am 55 years old but still pretty strong). Great sights with long sighting radius.
Pros
Good trigger, power, good balance. Good recoil pad.
Cons
Hold sensitive and shoots very poorly with some ammo, like 1.5" groups at 25 ft with Benjamin Destroyer pellets.
This is a big and powerful air gun. It's a big springer, heavy, recoils a lot, and it is great fun to shoot. This rifle is not quiet. The trigger on this rifle is incredible. It is smooth, short, and light. I think the trigger really makes this gun a must have. The underlever cocking arm takes some force to operate, but that is easily and safely handled by putting the butt of the rifle on my leg or on the edge of the shooting chair while cocking. This rifle is sensitive to hold and requires some experimentation to get the right hold and it is picky about the pellets used. I found that 26gr Predator Polymag Hunter pellets work great.
My initial testing was done at a 100 yard rifle range with open sights. I was surprised at how powerful and accurate this rifle is. I really expected a big springer to be difficult to learn to shoot and would be useless at 100 yards, but I was mistaken. This gun is easy to shoot well, and is great fun. I shot my .25 cal Trail NP XL, the same day and was surprised to find that this rifle is more powerful than the Benjamin. Others at the range that day, who were shooting centerfire rifles, tried this rifle and were delighted with it.
Out of the box, this appears to be a quality rifle with very nice fit and finish. The only thing I did to it before shooting was to clean the barrel thoroughly. There was a lot of oil in the piston cylinder and the rifle dieseled until all of the oil was cleared out.
If you are looking for a big, powerful, accurate air rifle, and short of a PCP rifle, this is the rifle that you want.
Pros
The trigger
The synthetic stock
The loading mechanism
The weight and balance
Cons
It would have been nice for the rifle to come with a sling.
The rifle arrived, well packaged, and double boxed. The instructions in the box were not for the rifle model so I downloaded the the correct Hatsan manual from the Hatsan web site. This rifle is NOT A TOY!!! It is HEAVY (close to 10 pounds with a scope). It is powerful....at 45 feet will shoot through a 3/4 inch pine board just like punching paper. It took 50 warm up shots to get it up to speed. It is packed in a lot of oil internally so it will DIESEL REAL LOUD (like a 22 rimfire) until the oil burns off. It cannot be cocked by a child. I weigh 220 and am pretty strong and I have to cock it by resting the butt on a stool and use both hands to pull the underlever all the way. The Safety on the gun is great, along with the anti bear trap button release, and the independent breech. There is no way to get hurt on loading the pellet.
Pros
It is a serious air rifle. It is heavy/solid. It packs a wallop in .25 cal.
Cons
The 50 pounds needed to cock the rifle. The soft rubber breech seal fell out of the gun on the 8th shot!!!! I could not find it anywhere so I fabricated a better one out of a hard rubber plumbing gasket with some 220 grit sand paper. 15 mm diameter x 3.5 mm high. Works great.
I found this air rifle to be to heavy at the front and it is not at all accurate. With only 2 in 15 shots grouping satisfactory using a sand bag on a steel bench.
Pros
looks the goods
Cons
acuracy, weight

Scott from USAWhat is the trigger like? I am afraid of wasting money on another air gun with a horrible trigger. I bought a Gamo big cat and the trigger has such a long and hard pull, it's hard to keep on target when it breaks. I shot a friends Beeman and the trigger feels just like a decent trigger on a regular single action firearm. The two stage trigger worries me, it makes me think of a double action trigger and I'm afraid it will be like the Gamo trigger.
asked ShaneI agree, the Quattro trigger is extremely nice. It's a clone of the Rekord which is probably the best airgun trigger ever. Mine, which is on a 125, had two adjustment screws in the trigger blade for the stages, and behind the trigger for pull weight. Google Quattro and Rekord to see more. I would say not to buy an underlever gun until you're tried one. They are harder to cock and load, heavier, and more nose heavy. Plus more expensive. I would really consider the 125 instead, and in .22cal.
ToddI have a Hatsan 125 Sniper that also has a quarto trigger. It is much nicer than the trigger on most Gamo and Crosman guns. It is adjustable also, but I left mine where it was at. Comes set very nicely. Breaks consistently and crisply. Also, a two stage trigger is different from a double action trigger. The rifle is cocked when the lever is pulled all the way down. A double action trigger cocks the trigger as you pull it back. it is usually much lighter. Good luck deciding on your next airgun! :)
DylanHow sturdy is this air rife?
asked DennisIt is very sturdy air rifle, I like it a lot.
Blaine from USAThis rifle is very sturdy. It is actually heavy duty. I watched a video on youtube where a guy is shooting it. The noise level is very high, so this cannot be used in city limits where these are illegal. I own 4 pellet guns and this is the heaviest of them. It is made to last a very long time. I wouldn't recommend this to a young person who isn't fairly strong if you are going to shoot standing up. The bipod it came with was very cheap, the rifle is not.

I bought this rifle with high expectations after reading reviews. Not happy with it, due to its inaccuracies. I shot it at 25 metres, using 8 different types and weights of pellet. ( shooting from a bagged bench ). No 10 shot group was less than 75 mm ( 3 inch ). The cocking lever constantly released from the recoil.
I have since returned this rifle to my gun dealer and they have given me another rifle ( same model ) to try, which I have not had time to do yet.
I am open to suggestions.
Pros
Difficult to say at the moment. The trigger set up is very good.
Cons
Cocking lever catch fails 50% of shots. Accuracy is non existent at the moment. Recoil is heavy.
