The adjustable light for the reticle is useless during the day - as it hits dusk it has more benefit. When shooting into trees, the reticle can be difficult to see as it is very fine. I'd like to be able to make the reticle slightly more visible during the day with some illumination so it is a brighter red against the background.
Pros
This is a great scope - I use it on a Gamo with the intent of another rifle, but I really like it. The reticle is very thin so and the type of reticle makes hold overs for wind and elevation very easy. This is a compact model so it will fit the shorter rifles, but be sure to look at your scope rings - a single mount may not work and you may need two singles.. Side focus is awesome and the larger wheel make dialing it in a breeze - I didn't think I would like it that much. At a bench not a big deal, but hunting.. The magnification ring adjusts perfectly - not so firm that you lose your target, but not so loose to drift. The caps adjusting the turrets are nice, the turrets have a deliberate click and this is a MIL so 10 clicks per MIL. At 25 yds - 1 Mil = 0.9", each click should yield a 0.09 point of impact shift @ 25 yds. The math: @100 yds - 1 Mil = 3.6". To make this easy - one click is about 1/4"@100yds. One click is also about 1/16"@25yds.
Cons
Not much to change - this is a perfect scope for me. It does have a shorter eye relief so take that into consideration when looking at a scope.
