John Wayne, also known as The Duke, embodied the spirit of true American grit, individualism, and bravery both on and off screen. From the sands of the American West, to the Sands of Iwo Jima, John Wayne captured hearts worldwide. To help continue The Duke's legacy, Air Venturi is proud to announce the Officially Licensed John Wayne Commemorative 1911 CO2 air pistol.
The infamous Colt 1911 was first carried by American servicemen from 1911 during the Philippine–American War and is still in use today as the M45 MEU(SOC) pistol, which is issued to the special operations component of Marine Expeditionary Units. Recognizing the appeal of this historic weapon, Air Venturi, has faithfully adapted the 1911 for use with .177 caliber ammo and CO2, while still being able to maintain the look and feel of its firearm counterpart.
Featuring John Wayne's signature emblazoned across its sturdy metal slide and a finish resembling years of use on the battlefield, the John Wayne 1911 is the ultimate collectors item for those looking for John Wayne tribute memorabilia, with a WWII era feel.

If you're a 1911 fan you won't be disappointed.
Pros
I shoot 1911s in the Cowboy Action Shooting Wild Bunch category. First impressions out of the box were positive. It has a solid feel to it, although a bit lighter than the real thing, it represents the 1911 quite well in fit and function and still has enough heft that it doesn't feel like a toy. The mag release, grip safety and safety all function just like a real 1911. loaded the mag and it functioned without any issues. The blow back action worked great. I'll be using this for backyard practice when I can't get to the range.
Cons
Some have mentioned about loading the magazine. The instructions show to load the BBs into the mag from the top. I found it much easier to pull the follower all the way down and hold and load the BBs into the enlarged section where the follower is usually locked in place (see where the pen is pointing to in the attached pic). Loading them into the top is a painstakingly frustrating and timely effort. I'd like to have a couple of extra mags but have yet to find anyone who sells magazines for this model and am not sure some if any of the other 1911 magazines are compatible. Also, the instructions do not provide any info on take-down or slide disassembly. Maybe there is nothing to be serviced by removing the slide. Don't really know because it's not addressed one way or another.
Pros
realistic feel, quiet, excellent accuracy. only have owned this for a month, getting around 50 shots per Co2 cylinder
Cons
loading the magazine is a pain. get a second magazine.
Nothing too crazy to add to most reviews. Pretty standard (high quality) KWC-style 1911. Great finish and feel. Action is smooth. I get about 60 rounds per CO2 cartridge. Get an extra mag if you're able.
Pros
Smooth finish that doesn't scratch as much as others I've seen.
Cons
Like everyone else, I find the safety warning a bummer/eyesore.
Gun looks and feels like a real 1911. Slide had problems locking back when empty. Cossing BB's to jam .
Pros
Looks and feels like a real 1911 . Air gun Depot is replacing for me .
Cons
It had some kind of defect in the slide
I think John Wayne would be proud to see his name on this gun. The fit and finish is great. Love the used and abused look. The gun cycles as it should and is fairly accurate for a BB gun. This BB gun is the same size as my real 1911 and field strips the same way. Great to practice with. I wish they had BB guns like this when I was a kid.
Pros
Gun is full size and field strips like the real thing. Looks great on display. Shoots great.
Cons
Don't like the white safety lettering on the slide.
Made very well. this blowback 1911 has alot of fire power. Its is one for your collection. At this price its well worth it.
Pros
blowback, easy loading,
This came well boxed and even the cardboard box is collectable! Well constructed and extremely faithful to the original Colt 1911, this is a solid, all metal, wooden handgrip, handgun. The sights were spot on right out of the box. I field stripped and lubed it as the firing mechanism was bone dry on arrival. Thing is quiet ... a 2 our of 10. Thing is accurate! I'm firing 2" groups at 25 paces. Buy it! I'm going to buy another for my little brother.
Pros
Solid, well made, dependable and a beauty just to hand on the wall.
Cons
The magazine is a major pain in the arse to load.
Great looking gun and it's all I expected it to be since I have the WW11 Luger, and the WW11 Mauser, which are of excellent quality.
Pros
Can't go wrong with this pistol.
Cons
None yet
Love the way it feels don't seem like a BB gun at all

Carrie from USAHow does the safety work? Is it worth the money? How far can it shoot?
asked WianThe safety only works when the hammer is cocked back. Its then flipped up just above your thumb on your right hand. The handgrip safety also functions as the real counterpart does . For Craig's Wright up i would also like to mention that this 1911 tares down exactly like a 1911. I recommend taking it apart to a basic level, cleaning it, and oiling it. They send it pretty dry. That's if your hands on and familiar with doing that. cleaned and oiled, It functions absolutely great when this is done. I do this with all the blowback action pistols or rifles i buy new or used. And for magazines there all pretty much interchangeable for the most part, for 1911's that is. Springfield Armory, the john wayne edition and also the Swiss Arm's 1911 are all compatible with my experience so far. Cheers Mike

Super fun!!
Pros
I got this in one of Airgun Depot's mystery boxes. IT IS AMAZING. It has very realistic controls including the thumb safety. It locks open after the last shot. It has the right weight and dimensions. The grip pieces are plastic but other than that, this thing is pretty accurate. Love it.
Cons
Plastic grips
