perfect fit for my set up
Pros
lite yet durable
I bought this case for my scoped marauder. It works but as another reviewer said, I would NEVER use this case to ship my gun In or use for traveling In/on public transportation. It's better than a soft case In terms of an Impact to the gun but honestly my Benjamin premium soft case does a better job of keeping my guns free or clean of static, dirt, dust and moisture. The problem Is that Its too flimsy, and any pressure exerted On It, and It flexes. Also the case doesn't line up right If you have a moderately sized scope On your rifle. My scopes only 3-12x44 (U.t.g.) and my synthetic marauder and this scope aren't really fat and thick, and yet It bows out In a few spots around the carry handle, and bottom allowing dust, moisture to enter. Even when my guns are not In the case, dust, static, moisture, fills up along the Inside edges. It's ok for putting in your car to go to the range but I Intend On purchasing a better one. Harbor freight sells pelican grade, (sealed water tight, customizable pluck foam hard case) cases for about $125 that will fit my scoped marauder and Thats what I will go with.
Pros
Very low cost, better than soft case with Impacts, will offer light protection when going to the range
Cons
Too flimsy, buckles are cheap, plastic easily flexes with slight pressure, bows out allowing dirt, dust, and moisture In. Just as another reviewer stated, they don't make them like they used to and this could never be trusted to ship your gun In or go on a hunting trip with. My dad's Plano from 1970s-1980's still great, still works and Is 1000x better.
There is nothing special about this case, as the plastic used in construction is very thin and flexible. Not too long ago, similar cases were made using thicker plastic and metal latches, which was much sturdier, far less flexible, and more secure. The cases of today work OK for everyday protection and storage, but I wouldn't trust them to be used for shipping or public transportation travel. Just as many other products have been cheapened to remain affordable, cases like this are no exception, but quality has been compromised to keep production costs down..
Pros
Low cost; moderate protection; better than a soft case.
Cons
Poor latches; flimsy, thin, plastic composite material.
For the money, you can't beat it. I the snap locks sometimes come off, but luckily they are easy to put back on. Holds my rifle with scope, several packs of pellets, and other basic accessories. At some later time I will invest in a higher quality case.
Well built holds gun in place and looks great
