Why an airgun scope instead of a firearm scope? RWS Airgun Scopes are equipped with Airgun Shock Reinforcement (ASR) Technology that allows the scope to handle the specific recoil of an airgun where the first kick is rearward like a firearm, followed by an additional forward kick that is unique to an airgun. Firearm scope lenses are reinforced at the front to handle the rearward kick. The lenses on an RWS Airgun Scope are additionally reinforced at the rear to handle the second (forward) kick. ASR Technology protects the scope lenses from the unique recoil of an airgun. Features
  • 3-9X44 Night Pro
  • 30 mm Tube
  • Red Illuminated MilDot Reticle
  • Includes: Scope, Two-piece Dovetail Mount and Lens Cap

For the money, just purchase a cheaper scope figuring it will only last a few years. You can buy two of them for the price of this one!

Pros
Scope worked well for a few years.

Cons
Now that the warranty has expired, the scope is junk! Moisture has clouded the lenses to the point it is worthless. The eye piece is cracked also.

Bought this for my tiger 10-22 rifle. 9 years old and still going strong. I use my gun on a regular basis. 1000s of rounds and not one issue. Good job RWS

Got a Ruger Yukon that came with an Optima 3x9x32 scope that didn't work right out of the box, upgraded to this RWS scope by exchanging the dead Optima and $70.00 upgrade cost for the RWS 3x9x44. It worked great for several months, then the illumination dial worked loose and worked only occasionally, it is now a loose bobble head that occasionally lights but mostly not, and sometimes stays lit running the battery down.

Pros
Optics are clear and bright,mil-dot works fine and overall scope has great optics with good magnification, no problems anywhere I encountered. Light gathering is fine and overall a really nice scope.

Cons
Illuminated night and dusk vision illumination dial very poor design. It works loose and becomes non-operable in a few months and appears to be a on-going problem with this scope. A surprise coming from such a well known and highly reputable firm as RWS (Rheinisch-Westfälischen Sprengstoff-AG) that has made durable high quality products for generations. I would have rated this a strong 5 if it were not for the illumination dial failure that seems sure to happen in every scope with use.

This is my second purchase of this excellent telescopic sight. It is easy to install and get zeroed in. With all of the focusing capabilities, it will take care of getting one on target quickly and its performance exceeds the range of most air rifles. When the lighting is poor, the illuminated reticle is a big help in hitting the target. The choices for
the reticle one likes and the ability to zoom in on the target makes this my air rifle telescopic scope of choice.

Got mine when I got my Walther Terrus, after bout 5 weeks the battery holder/reticle switch came loose, did not work, and I had only used it a couple times to see if it worked, was nearly falling off, sent it back to Umerex for repair, only 10 day turn around, repaired fine, but they did not return my lens cover, I emailed them twice, have been completely ignored, but the scope is OK, not great, but good, sure wish I had my lens cover tho, such is life!!!

Cons
Heavy

Mounted with factory mounts at 15 yards pellets jumped all over target with my gamo bone collector bull whisper. Took scope off replaced mounts with my RWS 1 piece mount. When I tried to get screws out of rings 2 of the screws would not release stripped screws had to use easy out to remove them. Shot better using crosman hollow points. Then tried H&N barracuda 10.65 gr. had 1/4" groups. Probably get better if I would used a steadier platform. I sent back a RWS 6x42 front seal was coming out and it was on target then it dropped a 1 1/2' .

Pros
Nice scope so far. see if this one holds up.

Cons
Factory mounts no good.

I order this last Jan.14 and upon receiving it I notice that the glass was defective so I exchange it right away. It took a week for the replacement to arrive. I receive the other one on Jan. 29. I use it on Gamo whisper fusion with red fire pellets and was dead on all the time until yesterday when I open a new tin of pellets. The illumination knob on the top was broken it keep going round and round and won't stop or click. in short don't waste your money and time on this scope. The $39 tasco 50mm from Walmart still on the big cat and it seems holding pretty well.

Pros
accurate, easy to dial,

Cons
cheaply chekwa made.

I bought this scope due to all the great reviews. At first the scope was great, I had it zeroed and was keyholing shots at 20 yards. I was really impressed but after 3 days with it the Zoom adjustment stoped working and it would not hold it's zero.. I returned the scope and got a new one. After a day of shooting with that scope the lenses cracked from the inside. This was a great scope while it worked and I'll be getting another in hopes that I just had gotten two from a bad batch.. We shall see I the next one survives.

Pros
Great while it lasted!

Cons
2 broken scopes in less than a week:(

Does it last? How many rounds has it stayed on target? How are the optics and how many clicks adjustment are there?

asked Dan

I've purchased two of these. The first one is on a gammo springer. It's stayed on target since I put it on. Probably 100 rounds. I haven't shot it since I purchased my hatsan QE which has the second RWS scope on it. This one is dead on out to 70 yards. Of course it's a very different gun. For the price you can't go wrong. Hope this helps.

William from USA

What is the minimum distance that the AO can be adjusted to? (5 or 10 yds.)

asked Kevin

Hello, The magnification can be adjusted between 3x and 9x.

Scott from USA

Hi Will you post this product to Australia ? And if so how much for postage? thanks Chris

Scott from USA

How much does this scope weight?

asked James

This scope came with my RWS 460 magnum as a packaged deal which I bought from Airgun Depot months ago. This is the second time I have answered this question and submitted it, which was weeks ago. The first was never posted! According to the literature which came with the scope, it weighs 1.31 lbs and is 14" in length.

Terrell from USA

this scope weights 24 oz

Beverly from USA

According to the literature that comes with the scope, it weighs 1.31 pounds and 13.7 inches long, large and heavy. I would not recommend mounting it on a magnum springer or gas ram air rifle.

Terrell from USA

What is the range it should cover?

asked AVIJIT

Can this cope be used on a 6mm rifle?

asked ark

definitely I have it on a remington 243 and have shot about 50 rounds through it and it still holds a tight zero about 3/4 inch @ 100 yards.it

Does this help shooting when its dark? Does it work well?

asked Anton

the illuminated reticle helps you see the reticle in low light or in bright sun light. This is a nice feature at dusk or in the middle of the day. It does not illuminate the target in complete darkness. This is a very nice feature and a very nice scope. Hope this helps.

John

are the included mounts for the 3/8 dovetail ?

asked earl from USA

Yes they are for dove tail.

Steve from USA

I read over the reviews for this scope and will most likely buy one for my Model 48. But just too make sure, this is for night shooting, right?

asked LK

Yes, though you would want a source of light, like a scope mounted flashlight.

Steve from USA

Can this scope zoom on things

asked gerrale

Yes it can go as high as 9x magnification.

Steve from USA
