Famous for its time in military use, and infamous for its use by gangsters during the prohibition era, the M1A1 has a storied history in the United States. Commonly referred to as a "Tommy gun" and "Chicago Typewriter", the real steel version saw U.S. Military service from 1938-1971. The .177 caliber steel BB version features the same iconic looks and functionality as the firearm.
A 30 round stick magazine houses two 12 gram CO2 cartridges that provide enough power to sling steel BBs at up to 435 fps, as well as give an enjoyable recoil impulse thanks to the blowback action. The rifle can be operated in semi-auto or full-auto, sending a full magazine of BBs downrange in a matter of a few seconds.
Well known for producing some of the most enjoyable replica airguns on the market, Umarex brings yet another historically significant firearm to life in airgun form! Era correct faux wood furniture, sights, and sling mounts make the M1A1 a replica that even the most avid collectors will be impressed by!

Pros
This is a very nicely made, well machined weapon. I have not fired it yet, but have watched several videos on how to load the CO2 cartridges and am comfortable that I know how to set it up when I get to a range. Airgun Depot's customer service was outstanding--at least for me. Please note that this weapon is apparently based on the 1928 M1A1 pattern, NOT the model you see Sergeant Saunders using on 'Combat!' if that's what you're after--and by that I mean (1) the upper side of the barrel does NOT have the heat radiating fins (i.e., it's smooth) that Saunders' model does; (2) this M1A1 model does NOT have the distinctive Cutts compensator on the muzzle as Saunders' weapon does and (3) it has the later [right] side charging peg, not the top mounted charging peg that Saunders' weapon has. This combo kit is a good choice, because only one magazine is NOT enough for a fun range day; spare magazines are $50 separately so might as well get the package with one, BBs, and CO2 cartridges.
