Best Beeman Airguns

Beeman airguns have been around for a long time. Today’s Beeman airguns have a great heritage to live up to, and fortunately there are many great Beeman airguns to take up that challenge. This article will look at some of the best that Beeman offers for value and performance. Let’s get started

German vs. All Others

Beeman’s journey began not as a manufacturer but as a licenser of high-end European airguns, bringing them into the US market. At a time when airguns were a mainstream choice overseas, American shooters were largely unfamiliar with them, limited to the likes of the Daisy Red Ryder and other hobby airguns. However, with the introduction of high-end German-made springers, Beeman sparked a revolution, enlightening the American shooting community about the true potential of airguns. This is where our exploration begins.

Beeman R9 Break-Barrel Spring Airgun

The Beeman R9 is made in Germany by Weihrauch. It’s an exceptional spring-powered airgun that delivers an amazing shooting experience with power and accuracy. Available in .177 and .22 calibers, the Beeman R9 features precision open sights, an ambidextrous wood stock, and the famous fully adjustable Rekord trigger. The receiver features an 11mm dovetail for scope mounting.

The cocking effort is relatively light and very smooth. The barrel lockup is tight and absolutely critical for repeatable accuracy. The Beeman R9 has been a mainstay for serious airgunners for decades and is a favorite for target shooting, pesting, and small game hunting.

The Beeman R7 is a great alternative for those looking for the same build quality in a smaller, albeit less powerful format.

Beeman P1 Pellet Pistol

The Beeman P1 Pellet Pistol comes in both .177 and .22 calibers. It’s spring piston-powered and features an easy cocking stroke and an adjustable two-stage trigger set from the factory to a pull weight of around 28 ounces. The weight and balance are similar to a full-sized 1911 Colt .45. The open sights are fully adjustable, and there’s an 11mm dovetail for mounting a compatible optic. The Beeman P1 is manufactured in Germany and has a limited lifetime warranty.

Beeman Underlever PCP

The Beeman company was acquired sometime back and began diversifying its offerings with a broader range of products and price points. This included airguns from Spain and China, along with their high-end German imports. Currently, most airguns carrying the Beeman name are imported from China, with some notable exceptions mentioned above.

One of the more popular Chinese imports is the Beeman Under Lever PCP. It’s available in .177, .22, and .25 calibers and is extremely affordable. It’s unregulated and very utilitarian. It has a nice wood bullpup stock, a pressure gauge on the left side, a shrouded barrel, a single-stage trigger, and a weaver rail on top for mounting optics. The cocking is handled by an underlever hidden in the forestock of the gun. It’s a unique design and facilitates fast follow-up shots without the shooter having to take their eyes off the target. It’s fun, accurate, and has more than enough energy for 50-yard target shooting, pesting, and small game hunting. The Beeman Underlever PCP proves that you don’t need to spend much money to get a great airgun.

Beeman QB78 Deluxe

Perhaps the most reviewed and enjoyed of all the Beeman Airguns is the QB78 Deluxe CO2 rifle. This .22 caliber airgun delivers great accuracy and decent energy for close-range pesting. It features a beautiful wood stock, a brass accented cocking lever and trigger, fully adjustable fiber optic open sights, an 11mm dovetail for mounting optics, and an adjustable trigger. It’s powered by two 12-gram CO2 cartridges that deliver about 60 shots. At 550 FPS with .22 caliber lead pellets, it’s not a powerhouse, but it’s a ton of fun. Also, it’s very affordable at well under $150.
