The original Walther LGV match gun was made in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was the best of Walther's breakbarrel target air rifles. Walther's reintroduction of the LGV is actually a series of 5 guns with different stocks, sights and muzzlebrakes. This is the LGV Master Ultra air rifle, and it comes with upgrades not found on some of the other guns. Beech stock: If you're a traditionalist and prefer that your air rifles be made of wood and steel, this model could be a perfect fit. The beautiful ambidextrous beech stock has twin raised cheekpieces and checkering on the pistol grip. When you shoulder your rifle, you'll immediately sense the proper fit and perfect balance. Match sights: For top accuracy, you need superior open sights, and the LGV Master Ultra comes with a globe front sight that accepts inserts, which are also included. The micrometer rear sight lets you make small incremental adjustments to extract the most accuracy this air rifle can deliver. Muzzlebrake: With the extra leverage from the attached muzzlebrake, the cocking effort is that much easier. All Walther LGV rifles come with Super Silent Technology, an innovative way to reduce the sound of the report. When you shoot, you won't alarm the neighbors or disturb the rest of the people in your house. Springer guns can have a reputation for buzzing and twanging after each shot. Walther has created a wonderful powerplant that doesn't give you the vibration often found in spring guns. With the LGV Master Ultra, you'll be able to shoot for longer stretches because the physical stress of constant vibration is gone. Barrel latches commonly came on better spring guns, but they went out of style decades ago. Walther brought it back for their LGV series. To cock your air rifle, flip up the barrel latch and then break down the barrel. Once you've loaded a pellet and flipped the barrel back in place, the barrel latch will lock up your barrel like a bank vault. Want a nice trigger? You'll have one on your LGV Master Ultra! It's factory-set at 3 lbs., but you can adjust it to your liking. It's a smooth, crisp two-stage trigger no matter how it's set up. The Walther LGV Master Ultra is one of the finest air rifles made today. You will not regret buying it. In fact, you'll kick yourself for not buying it sooner.

FANTASTIC ! It really does shoot like a PCP and it isn't too hold sensitive. Workmanship is first rate. Beautifully blued and the beech stock is flawless. This gun will hold it's own with most PCPs out there.

Pros
Workmanship is wonderful. It is what one would expect from a fine German gun maker. The fit between the moving parts is flawless. The gun is pure precision from butt to muzzle.

Cons
The gun is a little heave but you cant hold that against such an accurate springer. Mine came with a plastic trigger shoe. That is the only disappointment I have with the gun but they are shipped that way to prevent accidental discharge should the rifle be dropped when cocked. I understand their reasons but the metal tuning trigger should have been shipped with the gun for the end user to install. One more thing, and this is a biggie. The rear site is absolute junk. It flops around and will not keep reasonable zero. They didn't last 10 shots on my gun. Took them right off.

Fit and finish are excellent. Accuracy is on par with guns I own. After the first 25 rounds to sight in and get acquainted, the gun was putting 5 to 10 JSB 10 gr. pellets into a dime from 25 yards off of shooting sticks. Great gun, glad I got it.

Pros
Accuracy, fit and finish. Very smooth firing cycle.

Cons
Plastic trigger, designed not to have enough inertia to allow the gun to fire if dropped. They should send the tuning trigger with the gun. The rear sight was junk. Took those off right away. The rear sight blade flopped around like it was loose on the gun, what were they thinking ?
