Ammo Recommendations
The Winchester model MP4 CO2 rifle shoots whatever ammo you've got. Steel BBs and lead pellets aren't in short supply like firearm ammo -- and a lot cheaper- too! So- load up your rifle and commence to shootin'. Because this really delivers a lot of power downrange- the gun uses two (2) CO2 cartridges at a time. Our tech department has done some velocity testing of the Winchester MP4. They got 550 fps with pellets and 450 fps with steel BBs. There were times when an occasional pellet would reach 600 fps.

Winchester MP4 Air Rifle Features
  • Uses 2 (two) 12-gram CO2 cartridges
  • Semiauto
  • Rifled steel barrel
  • 16rd mag holds pellets or steel BBs (2 8rd rotary clips on either end of the insertable magazine)
  • Telescoping buttstock
  • Flip-up- front sight (not adjustable for windage or elevation)
  • Flip-up- adjustable rear sight
  • Composite stock
  • Metal receiver
  • Integral Weaver/Picatinny rail system on all 4 sides of the barrel
  • Manual safety

Do not shoot steel BBs at hard objects or water. They will ricochet! Remember to wear safety glasses. In fact- everyone in the vicinity of the range should wear safety glasses- even if they're not shooting. Remember to remove all pets from the range before you start shooting.

This is the second Winchester MP4 Semi-Automatic CO2 Rifle, that my teen AirGunner and I have purchased, for they are well constructed, hard hitting, accurate, and inexpensive. With this add to our air gun collection, we have also inexpensively converted to bulk fill with the Air Venturi Bulk-Fill Adapter, attached to a Ninja 13oz HPA Tank, Regulated to 1,100 psi
Fits Umarex Steel Force & Steel Storm and Winchester M14 Airgun Magazines...... it also FITS the Winchester MP4 Semi-Automatic CO2 Rifle, and is interchangeable with our other MP4, by just exchanging clips! A tremendous overall shot increase, with out the detriments of CO2 gas.(see images)

Pros
Powerful, accurate, well constructed, looks and feels great, dual ammo, inexpensive, Integral Weaver/Picatinny Quad Accessory Rail System makes it very versatile.

Cons
Only short skirted pellets can be used with this rifle for the long skirted pellets, will jam the small rotary magazine. The trigger is a two stage that must be completely released for it to index the next round properly. With the stock CO2 configuration of two 12g Co2 cartridges...... it uses way too much gas. CO2 FPS/FPE drop. Low overall shot count.

400 ROUNDS AND SO FAR SO GOOD.. REVEIWS HAVE NOT BEEN KIND TO THIS GUN, BUT I HAVE NO PROBLEMS AS OF YET..TRUTH IS, THIS GUNS BEST ASSET IS IT LOOKS GREAT.. THE CLIPS ARE A LITTLE FLIMSY.. THE MAG HOLDER THAT THE CLIP SLIDES INTO IS SOMEWHAT OF AN INSECURE FIT.. A YOU TUBE TABLE TOP VIDIO IS THE BEST WAY TO FIND OUT HOW TO DEAL WITH THESE SMALL PROBLEMS..IT BASICALLY SAYS TO SOMEWHAT BABY THIS GUN.. I CAN SEE WHY.. I STILL SAY BUY IT AND LEARN TO USE IT AND ITS LOADS OF FUN..

Pros
LOOKS GREAT.. LOTS OF FUN..

I've not experienced any jamming issues, but I avoid using plain lead pellets. I've only used copper coater so far. This has been a really fun & reliable gun. Loaded with a goon scope and laser and some rail accessories and this thing looks real. This is one of my favorite guns.

Pros
Great look & feel. Good accuracy. Easy to load & use magazines & Co2.

Cons
None so far.

I've had the Winchester M14 air gun for about a year and the MP4 shoots about the same. That is to say that the trigger pull is the same and the accuracy (very good) is the same. The MP4 is a bit heavier than the M14 but if you like to add accessories this is the one for you, lots of picitinny (sp)_ area. You can get 40 to 50 accurate shots out of two CO2 cartridges using 7.0gn. pellets. I didn't add anything to mine as it's heavy enough for me as it is and the sights are plenty good enough for 25-20 yard plinking.

Pros
Very accurate, fun plinking. Chonographed 7.4gn. pellets at about 460FPS with fresh CO2 bottles Price is reasonable.

Cons
None really, great air gun for the price.

I was impressed with the quality and feel of this gun. Lots of space for accessories. I didn't rate it 5 stars because of the frequent misfires. I shot several pellet brands through it and would get about 2-3 pellets not firing out of each cylinder cycle. I also had some pellets getting jammed making it hard to get the clip out to reload. I was generally shooting targets at around 25-30 ft. and it hits pretty hard. Overall a really nice gun. I bought it on sale for $99, should have bought two.

Pros
Feels great to hold, looks well built, good power, easy co2 loading, great price ($99).

Cons
Frequent misfires like most repeaters I have tried. Pellets can also get jammed making it hard to get the clip out.

I own a Smith and Wesson M&P AR15/22 in .22LR caliber and a Colt Pre-ban AR15 in ..223 caliber (5.56mm), and this air rifle is right up there in build quality and appearance with those fire arms. Excellent for indoor and outdoor low-cost range practice.

Pros
Well made, and mathces the look and feel of it's Smith and Wesson rimfire and centerfire counter part.

Cons
None

Functions very well if used right. Not the most accurate gun but fun to tear up cokes cans. Be sure to use full trigger pull to avoid miss fires

Pros
Semi auto

Cons
Not very accurate

I have owned this rifle for about 2 years and have put maybe 1000 pellets through it and when it runs smoothly it is a dream to plink and have fun in the backyard. My only downfall was with the double-sided rotary magazine, it would jam certain pellets mainly my go to pellets i.e. CPHP, JSB exacts. I would fire H&N copper coated pellets for days and as soon as I filled it with regular lead pellets it would jam after the first side. I have seen another fellow who contacted daisy and got more of these magazines and has had no problems. I will soon be doing the same, the only reason I have had it for a couple years and not done so is because I stepped up to pcp's. Overall whether or not I got a lemon of a magazine, I would highly recommend for backyard fun, oh should I mention it is quite quiet.

Pros
"Tactial" feel, adjustable buttstock, realistic mag release, eh trigger.

Cons
Rotary magazine.

I have great luck with Japanese products, both rifles and pistols. I found this gun to be a lot of fun, trouble-free, accurate, and it has a very high cool factor too. I use a red/green dot on mine, and it works well. I installed it close to my eye at first, but had much better luck when I moved it to mid-barrel. The open sights didn't work for me, but I didn't really try very hard once I locked on the red dot I decided that was the way to go. I'm using RWS basics, and went through a whole tin today. I'm getting seven clips, that's 112 shots, with the last few sounding pretty weak. BUT, the first 100+ hit hard. If you pace your shots, which is very difficult, the air lasts a long time. Problem is, pulling the trigger is a lot of fun. You can fill up a 1" hole very fast with this gun. No jams, seating the pellets takes an extra minute, but well worth the time. I have two M-14s by Winchester as well, and the clips are interchangeable. That's why I have seven of them. Easy way to count shots.

Pros
More accurate than expected, shoots fast, 100 shots with two CO2 cartridges at a time, good construction, nice replica.

Cons
None. If you seat your pellets and read the instructions you will have a ball.

When this came out I knew I had to have it, but wanted to wait for the price to come down and for some reviews to follow. Already purchased the M14 and can say these are both different shooting experiences. Good experiences but different in that the M14 is a straight forward load and shoot rifle that is easy to operate and nice adjustable peep hole sights. This MP4 is open to many different configuration options due to the picatinny rails. I added the following accessories, ACOG style red dot, Magpul sights, NC star tac light and laser sight, bi pod, Rubber butt pad and vert tac fore grip. So far all is well no issues, and very happy with the same results as the M14.

Pros
Easy loading C02 and Mags, good balance and feel, nice safety selector switch, adjustable stock, metal barrel and frame construction. Great picatinny rails.

Cons
2 Additional/extra mags would be an added bonus if included. Stock butt pad requires a pad for a better fit, easy fix yet should have been included.

I just to know if this MP4 is a Full Metal? if not where part is a plastic?

asked Reden from USA

Ang ilang mga internals at ang upper at lower reciever ay metel, ang natitra ay plastic.

Francisco from USA

Hand guards and but stoke are plastic, I modified mines by shortening the hand guard, know it looks like and M4, added laser+flashlight and scope

Jose

Hand guards and but stock, I modified mines by shortening the hand guard added an airsoft suppressor laser+flashlight and scope it looks a lot better, see photo

Jose

The reciever and barrel are made of metal. I dont know about the buffer tube, but you can swich out the factory stock for an aftermarket magpull or other brand.

GIJOOOOE from USA

Is the butt stock adjustable?

asked Ray

Yes mil. spec. a bit loose, so a wrap or two of black electrical tape will suffice.

Francisco from USA

Yes, adjustable.

John from USA

Yes it is, and it can easily be swapped for an aftermarket stock.

GIJOOOOE from USA

Yes!

jose

Yes, according to the description on this page.

Gene from USA

Yes it is adjustable

Harley

How far can this thing shoot for a kill shoot on varmints.

asked Hunter

At 26 meters, small game and pests such as rats, squirrels, crows, and groundhogs.

Francisco from USA

Honestly id use this thing for backyard plinking only i was shooting a soup can considtantly at 20 yard with little pennetrstion.

Luis

figuring that its claims to shoot at 700 fps which means it actually shoots at 500fps with lead pellets i would say no more than 30 yards for a good shot and 45 pushing it based off of the accuracy shown in the video. You might get better accuracy if you get a dummy co2 adapter and hooked it up to an HPA tank but even if you do its only a .17 cal rifle so it wont do much damage to anything larger then a squirrel at 500 fps but you might be able to get that number up if you can get the HPA tank to higher pressures than a co2 would but you would need a pretty good reg for that. But stock i would say 30 yards max for a squirrel

Scott from USA

This is not a good choice for hunting any type of animals. You will need a more powerful rifle

Michael from USA

What tactical mounts, lasers, red dots, flashlights, will fit on the rails of this rifle....

asked Fernando

Bi-pod, laser + flashlight, scope and mock suppressor, I took the hand guards and cut them to turn it into an M4, see attach photo

Jose

This rifle has Mil Spec Picatinny rails, all my "real" accessories fit. I actually took off my butt stock and grip, painted them FDE and then added matching ladder covers (also "real"), oh yea, I also put FDE Magpul backup sights on, looks for cool.

Scott

Has anyone verified the 700fps rating?

asked gnibert

Is the barrel rifled?

asked Richard from USA

Yes is rifled barrel

Patric from Canada
