The specs show that the Pro-Sport has a 9.5" Lothar Walther barrel. We've had a number of customers email us that this is a mistake. It is not. The barrel really is only 9.5" long. The gun has a shroud over the barrel, and the shroud is longer than the barrel. It gives the illusion that the barrel is longer than 9.5 inches. It isn't! The barrel is the rifled portion. The Air Arms Pro-Sport has earned a faithful following among field target shooters because it's remarkably accurate and easy to shoot. However, you don't have to shoot field target to appreciate this gun. In fact, you might want to get the .22 for hunting rats, mice, rabbits and squirrels. It's super-quiet because it has a barrel shroud that helps deaden the sound. The Monte Carlo stock and raised cheekpiece are just a couple of the gun's ergonomic features. Air Arms has increased the amount of area that is checkered on the grip and forearm. If you've ever had sweaty palms while hunting or during a match, you'll appreciate the extra gripping power! The Pro-Sport has a 12-groove Lothar Walther barrel and comes to you in a tuned state. That means you won't have to spend hours or days fiddling with the gun to make it shoot perfectly. The weight given in the specifications section says 9.04 lbs., but that's for the walnut stock. The beech stock is 9.48 lbs. This rifle does not come with a scope or sights, so remember to pick up a scope when ordering!

Fun with a red-dot optic too

Pros
Excellent pellet gun. I was apprehensive because of the price but it is a quality piece.

Cons
Wish there was a picatinny option

Its a heavy rifle but it puts the pellets where they are aimed every time!

Pros
The quality and craftsmanship are impeccable. Its amazingly accurate and just a joy to shoot and own. Took awhile to decide to buy one or not, I should have done it sooner

1st one I bought was defective. Would not group at all. But Airgun Depot customer service was above and beyond, and I received the exchange maybe 6 days after I sent it back. The replacement shoots flawlessly and restored my faith in the ProSport. These things do happen and it was handled better than I could have hoped for. Props to Matthew for taking care of this for me.

Pros
Looks, shoots, feels exceptional. A perfect blend of form and function. There's really nothing I can say about it other than, it is perfect. No spring twang at all. Tuned out of the box.

Cons
Very hold sensitive. Takes skill to shoot. Its going to place a pellet where it's pointed, perfect but also unforgiving. Would be nice if the US or FAC version had more power, but I'm sure it was tuned the way it was for a reason.

I bought this as a quality plinker and hunter. It shoots everything I've fed it well. I've been experimenting with synthetic pellets with dome shapes and they up the velocity and flatten the trajectory making this a more versatile rifle

Pros
Beautiful, accurate, quit rifle

Cons
The underside of the for-end needs to be more rounded for the fore-grip.

I am 64 years old and and when I retire, I hope to enjoy the Hunter Field Target class competitions, as I know of one club in New York State, in Dutchess County, that holds these gatherings. I purchased this rifle in .177 and since I'm 64, I decided to treat myself to a walnut model. Although the rifle does not have the extremely figured wood that one sees in adds run on the internet, it is a beautiful stock none the less and the metal is blued as deeply as can be done on any rifle, airgun or custom powder burner. The trigger is excellent and the gun shoots all .177 pellets that I have purchased accurately and that includes the inexpensive Walmart purchased,7.9 gr Crosman hollow points. I hope to compete using the Air Arms and JSB 8.4 grain domed pellets.

Pros
Accuracy, bluing, trigger, compactness, nice walnut stock

Cons
A little heavy and the bottom of the stock could have been made more round so it would make a more ergonomic fit for the hand's forend grip.
