Out of Stock

The Benjamin Akela bullpup hunting rifle is lighter and shorter than other related models in Benjamin's lineup while still giving you up to 1000 fps in .22 caliber and 1100 fps in .177 caliber. The added portability means you'll have an easier time dragging it through wooded areas while hunting small game, and it also makes a quick pesting rifle.

You'll have more time shooting and less time stopping to reload thanks to the 2 rotary magazines in the package and up to 60 shots on a 3000 psi fill of the 280cc air tube. You'll also get the options and setup you need, including a power adjuster knob, height adjustable cheek piece, and onboard pressure gauge.

This gun gives you comfort and precision with its inventive sliding cheek rest that gives you better cheek weld and eye relief, plus its thumbhole stock with checkering on the grip, and textured rubber buttpad. There's also a long Picatinny scope rail for mounting optics, and the shoe on the 2 stage trigger can adjust horizontally and vertically.

Quick fills and easy shooting won't be a problem on this rifle because of the quick disconnect Foster fitting and the smooth sidelever action. Add in a shrouded barrel and it's no mystery why you get reliable shots that won't scare away game.

If you're ready for a muscular and convenient bullpup for hunting small game that also features a premium Turkish walnut stock, buy the Benjamin Akela at Airgun Depot now.

Disappointing! Sent mine back after 30 pieces through it and trying to straighten it out. No one should have to work on something brand new supposedly quality especially! Got mine from a different outfit but people should also know that all these air rifles to in circles and come from the same places! Beware! Do not buy air guns made during a pandemic/ delusional times will help.Unless you spend big money!

Pros
Looks nice, very hyped up air rifle is all.

Cons
Barrel will droop, some do not hold air, trigger problems! Awfullest by Benjamin/Kral. Not really a Benjamin but Kral makes better stuff now!Ed 's snipper cut :)

Mine was shipped with it at about a full charge of air. After shooting it and refilling it with the Benjamin hand pump, I want to say thank you. The pump works great, just takes some effort.

Pros
Shot real well , out of the box. I have only shot about 50 rounds out of it. Looks to be a good quality. First pcp air gun that i have owned. I like that the pump came with it.

Cons
After the first ten rounds the trigger wasn’t working correctly, and would not shoot every time, I had to add a washer on the trigger rod to shorten the pull. The trigger would contact the stock before it would go off. Now it works perfectly.

Overall it the Akela is a looker. I cannot wait to shoot it more now that I have the droop issue figured out w/ shims. I would highly recommend that Airgun Depot look at other shipping companies as Fedex is a disaster. It looks like the one I got out of the box has some slight defects but not enough IMO to send it back to Airgun Depot especially given the crappy Fedex experience.

Pros
Absolutely beautiful gun and my first PCP. I have not shot it a ton yet but I can tell that it is extremely arcuate once I was able to zero the scope. It is also pretty quiet however this is my first PCP so I dont have much to compare it to. Ergonomics are good IMO and I have no issue shouldering quickly to get an eye on target. I found the lever action very easy and smooth. There is no loose play in the action and it was very easy for me to keep my eye on the scope while loading another shot. The gun is an absolute beauty and I cannot wait to hunt with it!

Cons
As follows: -Barrel droop was significant, took 4 layers of a soda can shim to get the scope aligned properly -Air pressure gauge on gun is flipped upside down, not the biggest deal but a little odd -Shipping was extremely frustrating via FedEx as it took a month to arrive I realize that I could send this back to Airgun Depot given the significant droop which I assume is a manufacture issue. With that said, I do not want to wait 2 more months to send it back and have another one delivered. After youtubing how to shim a scope, I was able to correct the issue fairly easily. Regardless I am disappointed in the amount of droop out of the box.

Pros
The Akela is my first air rifle, although I am a long time gunpowder shooter. I am not in love with the bullpup configuration, but that was my choice. It does result in a very compact rifle, but I find that the position of my face and cheek and eye relative to the scope is not as comfortable as I would like. That said, the fit and finish is good, everything that I needed (except a pump and scope) were in the box, and the rifle is very accurate (my key requirement). I find that my groups are highly repeatable, the rifle is certainly more accurate that I am, even on a stand. At this price point, I am a big fan. I looked at a number of rifles in the $2,000 category, and am delighted that I selected this one.

the air tank is very good, it also has two magazines of 12 each, 50 shots can be fired without reloading.
I am from Concepcion, Chile, I loved this PCP

Pros
I really liked this PCP, it is very precise and quiet, the power selector helps to save air during the hunt, I have shot jsb 15.89 jumbo exact in rabbits without problems.

Cons
it is a bit heavy, since with a hawke sight and loaded at 3000 psi it reaches 4.4 kg

Very accurate out of the box and quiet. Shoots H&N slugs and they all fit easily in the magazines. Bought the H&N .217 and .218 sampler packets and patterned at 50 yards. All shot well and hit HARD. Took to my deer stand to eliminate some of the grey squirrels that had been barking alarms all season. Shot the first one at 40 yards while a second one was inbound. It didn't even phase the second squirrel. Which came into 30 yards! 20 minutes on stand and 6 head shots, limited out. Highly recommend this PCP.

Pros
Quiet and accurate

Cons
Picatinny bipod adapter tends to slip/twist. I would have had it pick up the front swivel stud in addition to the provided adapter threaded insert. I'll be 3D printing my own upgrade.

Do you ship in Toronto Canada?

asked CIPRIANO from Canada

Does it come with a scope? If not which is recommended?

asked Martin from USA

No

Gerald from USA

Is the Barrel shroud metal or plastic ?

asked Josh from USA

metal, with two lock 1.5mm(i think) grub hex screws, make sure to back out BEFORE removing shroud.

Todd from USA

Where is it made?

asked Josh from USA

I believe it is made at the KRAL factory(Turkey) after a partnership with Benjamin. Currently, I have over 30,000 rounds of Crosman Premier and a good 60 POUNDS of lead cast slugs. I have had to do a variety of mods, like address the schimm in lever, trigger, print a foregrip/sloed 3degree Picatinny so-as to account for NOT PARALLEL to barrel -lovely walnut stock. im only on this page to BUY A SECOND ONE as i have one set specfically for NightPesting, and hate carrying around all that Tac on an ALREADY STOUT GUN! I purchased to replace my THIRD BROKEN HATSAN FLASHPUP, which joins the OTHER TWO BROKEN HATSANS. THANKS FOR HORRIFICALLY PATHETIC CS, HATSAN, EAT SOME COW PIES in DIXIELAND Rd, Arkansas, you backwater CHEAP IMPORTERS of INFERIOR Air Rifles, AKA ' HATSAN'

Todd from USA

Hi which accesories are included in this rifle?does it have fill adpators and magazine?

asked Jhan richwell from Philippines

only a mag, print yourself a 3D single shot tray, foster male at end of barrel, nice for tethering on DEATHGRIP Stand..... buy several, like six or seven MAGS since with a Crosman premier, you will knock out rats at 30yards 80rounds in!

Todd from USA

Does this come In a .25?

asked Henk from Holland (Netherlands)

No

Gerald from USA

How accurate is it at 25 yards? What is the trigger pull weight out of box?

asked Alan Dale from USA

Using a Deathgrip stand with a 4x-18 AR Optics Drpzone, i was SMASHING Spraypaint cans at 122 YARDS with both a 14.3gr Crosman and my own cast 25gr SLUGS! and they dont just knock over at 120yard paint can, they BLOW HOLES FULLY THROUGH. Highest hammerspring adjustment. Sweetspot for heavies, it seems to be around 1.8k-2.4k - also, most round nosed and slugs work flawless. i find the average pointed tip and longer=skirted diablo to be worthless after about 30yard even after lessening HS tension. on average, i would say VERY PELLET FRIENDLY, and also, i haven't hit 1000fps on my Chronograph, i HAVE hit high averages of 14.3gr HP @ 980fps - I dont use alloy/non lead, so i cannot speak as to the '1,000fps' claimed, but it is PRETTY TRUE- most guns I have tested, they base on about the lightest possible alloy they can.. not lead Crosman, $6.29 500ct Walmart specials.

Todd from USA

At 25 yards I group pellet on pellet. I've head shot small and medium sized green iguanas out to 55 yards with H&N Baracuda Hunter, Hunter Extreme and H&N slug HP .217s. I've head shot large green iguanas at 69 and 73 yards with JSB 18.13s. I don't remember what the trigger pull out of the box was but I have my Akela's trigger pull around 13 oz now.

Joseph from USA

Does this come In a 1.77 ?

asked Moss from

Yes

Gerald from USA

it can use slugs?

asked hector from Mexico

Definitely

Gerald from USA

i size to a .216 and .215 to account for the choked barrel. however, those are CAST. now with a factory swaged round like HN, the .218 27gr are PHENOMENAL. i prefer making my own, BUT the HN .218 swaged, they are a TRAIN on impact.

Todd from USA

H&N HP Slug .217s shoot well out of my Akela and they also fit the magazines.

Joseph from USA

Yes. It has a choked barrel. Slugs shoot best in un-chocked barrels. You may gave to single load the slugs.
