Benjamin Black Lightning NP2

Out of Stock
Fueled by the Nitro-Piston 2 powerplant, the Black Lightning is shockingly easy to cock due to a centralized pivot point that makes it easy to find leverage. Load up a single pellet and be amazed by the speeds this rifle can achieve. Shooters can expect up to 1,400 fps with alloy pellets and 1,150 fps with lead pellets. These speeds and their combined energy (23 FPE) make the Black Lightning ideal for shooting targets, eliminating pests, and hunting small game. Lightning never strikes twice, but your shots certainly can! Without the vibration of a traditional spring, and the patented 2-stage adjustable Clean Break Trigger (CBT), the Black Lightning is twice as accurate as traditional springers. Test it out for yourself with the included spinning target in each package. The Lightning's baffled barrel keeps your shots quieted for backyard shooting sessions. Each rifle includes a CenterPoint 4x32 scope for quickly sighting targets and includes integrated sling studs for attaching a sling. With a combined weight of 7.6 lbs. scoped, the Lightning provides enough heft to create a stable shooting platform without being a burden. The all-weather stock features soft-touch inserts for an easy comfortable grip. If all of this isn't enough to sell you, this airgun is assembled by American workers in Crosman's manufacturing headquarters in Bloomfield, New York.

Don't waste your money on this air rifle.

Pros
Comes with a cheap scope which is terrible.

Cons
It's a terrible air rifle for that kind of money. First off it's very heavy to carry around. Within a month of having it, pieces of the rifle were breaking while I was sighting it in. The scope that comes with it is terrible. It's not a very accurate rifle. It needs to be cleaned constantly in order to maintain any hint of accuracy. The plastic cylinder that is inside the the top of the barrel cracked while I was sighting it in. It's also extremely loud when firing with terrible recoil for a pellet gun. I made due with what I was left with but I wouldn't recommend getting this rifle. I would spend the extra money for a better one.

It would be nice if the guys test firing the rifles at the factory would recommend which pellets work best..ie grain weights

Pros
My whole life I have wanted a nice Air-Rifle but they were always out of my budget. Last August (2019) I was walking through the "clearance" aisle of Walmart when they were stocking and they had just put a Benjamin "Black Lightning" .177 Rifle on the shelf - $50! So, I grabbed it. Over the next few months I practiced with it and could never quite get the scope "dialed in". At 15 yards the best I could get was a 4 inch group and the occasional "flyer" I swapped the scope with a similar one and got the same results. Then I read some reviews of the Center-point scopes....ah hah!.. not the most reliable is putting it kindly...so, two weeks ago I'm in WM again and they have some scopes on clearance...a Nikon 3-9X40, and two Leupolds (3-9X40 and 4-12X40) so I bought them all. I slapped the Nikon on the Black Lightning, shot 15 pellets and brought that rifle to a "Dead Center" 2 inch group @ 45yds! Problem solved, it wasn't the rifle, it was the scope. Too much Rifle for too little Scope

Cons
Stop putting the scopes in the package..they suck and the owner will think that the problem is with the rifle until they upgrade their scope.

I have had my Benjamin Black Lighting for almost 2 months. I put a Center Point 3-9X32mm scope on it. It is one of the sharpest shooting pellet rifles I have ever shot. I can hit a quarter size target every time as long as I'm steady.

This gun was LOUD and had a bit of a kick to it. NOT the quiet easy to cock airgun I was led to believe. There's no way I'd shoot this gun over a Ruger 10-22. In fact the Ruger might just kick less and be quieter. I'm really disgusted that I can't return the damned thing since I fired it 4 times trying to sight it in, without any success. Money down the toilet!

Can I buy a replacement baffle for the Benjamin black lightning In .177

asked John from USA

If this rifle is set up on the same platform as the trail np2 thing are going to fail... crack and fall off.. e.g. plastic shroud holders the one at the breech block and the piece at the muzzle. I hope crosman has changed these for metal instead of being plastic which would turn this rifle in to a 5 star instead of a 2 star. Just remember crosman.. to us quality is everything and plastic pieses just doesn't do it for us.
