Spent the first fifty shots sighting in my Tasco scope. Spent the next fifty seeing how far I
could hit a plastic lime bottle. Got out to fifty yards and could hit it four out of five times.
Then couldn't hit anything. Double checked my scope mounts and they had gotten loose. I
don't know what the torque value for the screws is but they should probably be checked after
every fifty shots. The next twenty shots I could just begin to feel some kind of obstruction in
the cocking mechanism. Something like a screw was coming loose and interfering with the
cocking stroke. It got progressively worse until I thought I might break something and quit. I
did not try to take anything apart and fix it. I just boxed it up, called customer service, got a
RMA number and sent it back.
Pros
To the distance I got it, it was very accurate. It is pretty quiet and powerful. I am tall and the
overall dimensions of the gun fit me well.
Cons
I don't really think the problem I had was serious but the fact that it happened after so few
shots was a little surprising. The gun does have a fair amount of recoil which would explain
the loosening of the scope and possibly other hardware. My experience level with this type of
gun however is not significant so that may be completely normal. I have read where loosening
hardware can be common but typically after more shots than I fired. I am not overly
disappointed with the gun and if it was out of warranty I am sure I could have disassembled it,
found the problem, and fixed it.
I got the Benjamin Summit NP2 .22 cal. The scope fell apart after about 15 shots when I got the gun so I called Air gun Depot and said I could send it back to them or call Crossman and so I called Crossman they sent me a new scope with no problems Air Gun Depot and Crossman are great people to work with. Bought the gun to control squirrel on my property. This gun is very accurate as I have been shooting squirrels at 50 yards with now problem. I'm using Crossman Premier hollow point 14.3 gr. pellet tried a difference bran of pellet which was heavier and it did not work well at all. the Crossman premier pellets average 824to 826 feet per second. The gun is a little heavy but other than that very nice.
Pros
Very Accurate
Cons
Gun is little heavy
Benjamin is quickly becoming my favorite air guns. The accuracy cant be beat by the other brands of reasonably priced guns.Granted I haven't tried them all yet but the few I have tried don't compare to this rifle.Very easy to cock and very accurate.Great rifle to target shoot or varmint control.
Pros
Easy cocking,accurate, light weight,heavy hitter.
Cons
Scope could be better
So far so good, it seems that it will be shooting pretty good with benjamin destroyers in .22
Pros
Np2, quiet, cheap, nice gift
Cons
A little plain, bit of kick and slightly heavy from the front
I got this Summit NP2 in .177 caliber with a synthetic stock after a pleasurable experience with its sister gun, the Trail NP2 in .22 caliber.
Gun is very accurate once you get used to using the artillery hold. After 300 plus rounds of Crosman Premier Domed 10.5 grain pellets I have not had any scope issue. Nickel sized groups at 40 feet are my norm from a bench rest.
After shooting this rifle with a "standard" stock and the Trail NP2 with the "pistol grip" stock, I prefer the pistol grip for my hands. Nothing wrong with this stock.
Pros
Quality construction.
Easy to cock.
Not very loud.
Accurate.
I got this rifle on exchange for the Umar ex Octane .22 and this .22 B. Summit NP2 is better rifle by a mile! The Summit 2 is lighter, easier to cock and just as powerful as the Octane, maybe a little more. The Summit is also very accurate and a flat shooter.Chronoed avg. with CPHP 14.3gr averaged 835fps!For the money your getting a heck of a rifle and I cant think of a better deal.
Pros
accurate,powerful,light for a .22 rifle with this much power,scope is o k
Cons
none
I have had this rifle a month now and have ran a few hundred pellets through it now. Very accurate and thankfully likes the crosman domed or hollow point pellets. The scope is ok to start with but plan on upgrading as soon as possible. Haven't killed anything with it yet but I'm sure it will take down pretty much any small game. I do suggest a sling as it gets heavy after a while.
Pros
Accurate. Powerful.
Cons
Variable powerful scope would be a plus.
After watching dozens of YouTube videos and reading more reviews than I can count, I ordered this fantastic rifle. It's quiet, powerful and accurate. The bundled scope isn't bad either (but, I did order a 3-9 after realizing that the rifle deserves it.) Don't listen to anyone that has negative thoughts on the Nitro Piston 2, it's fantastic! Easier cocking than my first generation nitro guns and more power. What's not to like?
Pros
Powerful, quiet, accurate and easy to use. Feels like a real gun and shoots like it too.
Cons
I can't seem to stop shooting it. Very addictive.
I grew up shooting a Crosman 760 and it never let me down so when I decided to get serious I again looked to Crosman. I bought a Crosman F4 .177 at Walmart and was immediately amazed with the power and accuracy of the Nitro Piston design but, I wanted something that could replace my 22 rimfire. Looking around I found the upgraded NP 2 in .22 and had to have it. Right out of the box it delivered pellets with both energy and accuracy. Aluminum cans filled with water are obliterated by this rifle at distances of at least 50 yards (I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it farther yet but, I'm confident it will continue to exceed my expectations.) It's so quiet I've shot it with horses standing just a few feet behind me and they don't even look up. I love this rifle!
Pros
Accurate, powerful, quiet and easy to shoot. Almost too quiet. You forget how powerful it is because it's so darn quiet. (Until you shoot a crab apple and it vaporizes!)
Cons
I can't stop shooting it! My 6 year old son and I haven't missed a day at the spinner targets since it showed up.
Replace scope! Most accuracy issues with stock air rifles is with sights.
Pros
Very stable, accurate air rifle! I have had mine for 3 years now, and it's the most used of my air rifles. It is not hold sensitive like most break-barrels. The FPS is very good, and I have made many shots between 60ft and 100yds with this rifle. I replaced the scope with a Crosman Centerpoint Game Tag Scope 3-12 x 44, as the elevation ladders are needed for long distance shooting. I use JSB Jumbo Diabolo 15.89gr pellets. I have taken crows out to 70 yards with this setup. The only negative comment is the trigger. It is very rough, and I used the MCARBO trigger spring kit to modify it.
Cons
Trigger needs to be smoother!!!!
