All gas springs (gas pistons, gas rams) are NOT created equal! The Nitro Piston 2 has it all over the original Nitro Piston and almost every other gas spring on the market. Most gas springs have a reputation of being hard to cock, but the NP2 put an end to that. According to airgun writer Tom Gaylord, it's the easiest-cocking gas piston he's ever shot. But Crosman didn't stop the improvements there. They also improved the trigger so it feels like it's been tuned! Imagine that: A factory trigger that breaks crisp and clean. It has a significantly lighter trigger-pull, not one of those so-called "lawyer" triggers that requires Herculean strength to shoot. As long as they were making improvements, Crosman decided to make a better and more effective integral sound suppression system that really is quiet. You'll notice an immediate difference between the report from your Nitro Piston 2 air rifle and the older Nitro Piston guns or other brands. So, let's add up what you'll get in this great package: Easy cocking, fantastic trigger and less noise. And, it's assembled in Crosman's plant in Bloomfield, New York. While that's almost everything you could ever want, there's one more thing ?and it's really important: Accuracy. When we tested a Nitro Piston 2 at an industry show, we hit everything we aimed at. Isn't that what you want to do? We thought so! The Benjamin Trail NP2 dressed in a Realtree Xtra camo stock isn't a dream?it's a dream come true. It's here for you to enjoy, to hit everything you're aiming at, and not strain with each cock and each pull of the trigger. They've put the fun back in airgunning!

The rifle looks good, it's not cumbersome to hold (Like the pistol Grip), easy to cock, and it is quiet.

Pros
Very quiet. Like the stock.

Cons
The advertising on the box it is packaged in says, " 2 x the accuracy of spring piston break barrels". After learning how it like to be held when fired it was no more accurate than other break barrels I own--spring piston or gas piston.

I don't know what "refurbished" means but this gun was perfect right out of the box. Scope install was very easy. Do re-tighten all the screws after a few dozen pellets and re-check accuracy. I only sighted it out to 25 yd. but it is very accurate with Crossman Premier hollow points and perfect for the rabbits that ate $1000 worth of new shrubbery I planted last fall.

Pros
Exactly what I expected. I did purchase a $15 trigger kit from *bay and that lightened the pull considerably. About a 10 minute install and worth every penny.

Cons
If anything, clean and re-lube the trigger assembly. Factory oil was a bit stiff.

The whole process of ordering and receiving this item went very well. This was my first order with
Airgun Depot but i will most likely use them again.

Pros
Got a good rifle at a good price

Cons
Like anything ordered on line you dont get to handle it before purchasing

I love this gun. I have 5 other break barrels and they all are nitro piston 1. This gun feels better than all my others. The trigger doesn't need upgrading and this thing packs a whollop. It's like the np xl 1100 but smaller and easier to hold. I give it 5 stars .

Pros
Smaller than the np xl and easier to shoot with the same power.

Cons
Nothing.

Crosman promotes this gun as a 26 foot-lb air gun in .22 caliber. I am getting 21 to 21.5 ft/lbs depending on the pellet. Tom Gaylord got about the same power so I think this is accurate. 820 fps with 14.3 pellets, 720 fps with 18.13 pellets. This gun cocks and shoots very smooth. This gun is very accurate. The only thing wrong with this gun is that it doesn't come close to what Crosman promised. It feels and preforms a lot like the 6 year old Nitro Piston rifles. It is a slight improvement over the Chinese made Trail NPs. That's it.

Pros
Accurate. Powerful.

Cons
Not really an improvement over the Chinese Trail guns except for the trigger.

I had received the 22cal version and at first it was easy to setup. As the week went on i was adjusting the scope all of the time. I pur a barrel laser in in and tbe barrel was not seting in same location. It was up to 6 inches off at 100.ft. tighen the barrel pin within fifty shots it was loose again. The forks were machined so that you. Can see day light through them with the barrel closed. I will try another one at a later date, right now there is to much hyp on their poor quality.

Pros
Great power, going through 1/2" plywood at 70 feet.

Cons
Quality concerns on new behind schedual release product.

I just bought this gun in the 22 cal ,I have put 600+ shots in my out door range. from 10 yrd to 75 yrd. I have a shooting table and gun rest. The stock 3x9x32 centr scope that comes with it is fare to best. I put a 6x24x40 bsa ao scope on it and went to work. We shoot bottle caps off water bottles at 10 to 30 yards. The 14.6 gr hollow point premier pellets seem to shot the best ,all around. The 18.5gr newboys do well at 75 yards ,but not as well as the premier at 30 yards and under. For bench rest target shooting this is a nice gun with 1 out 3 to 4 pellet flying off. You can put two to three inside each other at 30 and under yards ,but that 4th one going wild. Just seems to be . I do take care to put easy fitting pellets in the gun ,if it wont go with just slight force then I get another pellet. I like shooting this gun. I own and shoot two other pellet guns ,spring guns and this one shoots the best. Rob Eagle Point Oregon. I ordered anther one set up the same , my shooting buddys like it also ,so now I will have two going at once. Oh ya I am 58 years old and this a real kick for me and my shooting friends.

Pros
Said it all above.

Cons
It is a break barrel.

Why is this gun a refurbished one, is the stock scratch and is the blueing in bad shape? I want to be honest with you.I have read some bad things about how you back up problems with your sales. I don't want any problems, I am 83 yrs old and I have had enough problems with products I have bought. Thanks!.

asked Gordon Amburn

what is your opinion on the quality?

asked john from USA

I have shot air guns for over 40 years. The only ones I don't have experience with are pcp. This is smooth cocking and has a pretty good trigger. While breaking in I am getting most five shot groups with under an inch and many three shot single hole groups. This rifle has power and mine at just over 100 rounds is still breaking in. It has stopped a raccoon in its tracks with 1 pellet through the skull. It completely buries a 22 call pellet in oak 2x4's at 40 yards.

Olbuck

A little better than the old Trail, less than a Diana 350. Kinda sorta sums it up. The good part is you can always return it if you must.

Does this gun really weigh just 5.22 lbs as stated in the Airgun Depot sepcs? Crosman and P/A both say about 8.3 lbs. Has that tapered piece at the rear of the barrel broken?

asked Tom Riggle

I answered this before but it either didn't take or was deleted. Sometimes I wonder because it happens a lot.... The answer is the heavier 8.whatever lbs. I also emailed AGD about this in early June, to which they replied and said they would correct it! I do like AGD, but I think they're under staffed or something because a lot of stuff like that slips by or gets blown off. And I'm not sure if they've fixed the breaking shroud problem or not, but I have no doubt that Crosman will fix it or send you a better replacement if it does crack. I'd imagine the one from a Trail XL or NPS would fit it, and those are aluminum. The one for the XL is $1.15, but the one for the NPS is $12.45!!! They're almost identical but the NPS barrel is ~25 thou thicker. I'd just buy the cheaper one and sand it to fit.

ROBERT from USA

I told AGD about this mistake on the weight maybe a month ago. They thanked me for catching it and said they'd correct it. So I dunno what happened. I knew this gun would be heavier than a regular one, but 8.3 is more than I expected, not sure where they put all that weight. I would assume the defective parts has been corrected by now, but knowing Crosman who knows.

ROBERT from USA

What scoope comes with this combo?

asked Ivan from USA

It should've been listed, but it's a CenterPoint 3x9x32. Apparently Crosman tried to save a buck using this vs the 3-9x40AO that Trails normally have. I think all Crosman guns should be offered with your choice of scopes, including no scope at all.

ROBERT from USA

What do you think of it?

asked john from USA

Reviews pouring in at Pyramid from the first buyers are not good! It just might be their worst gun yet.

Todd
