At first I wasn't sure about this air rifle given the price, but it performs amazingly. It has the classic terrible crosman trigger, but that's easy enough to fix. I also took off the iron sights and put a 4x power scope on it. At 30yrds I can put 5 shots in a quarter and punch through a 1x4. Any squirrel, dove or any little critter at 50yds or less is guaranteed dead. Well worth the price
If you take time to fix the trigger this is a great air gun accurate at to 40 yards
Pros
Nice Woodstock cocks easy very accurate
Cons
Long pull on trigger
I bought this gun when I was 13, now I'm 16 and still using it. I love going out in the woods behind my house, and doing target practice and some small game hunting. This is a very powerful and quiet gun so you won't disturb the neighbors when your shooting. This rifle takes out a squirrel with ease. Fantastic, accurate, and fun for an amazing price.
Pros
accurate
quiet
looks great
durable
easy to use
fun
Cons
Somewhat difficult to break barrel and reload at first but gets easier as you do it more. Also somewhat heavy but not too bad.
I have the 495 fps version because I live in Canada. It has a tasco 3-9x20mm scope and I killed a dove by shooting it through the head.
Pros
Price for full size. Power.
Cons
Was charged full price for not even half the fps. Heavy for long periods of time
This thing drives tacks! Nice power for the price...Would recommend this gun to anyone!
Pros
Nice Price and FPS.
Cons
Put a synthetic stock on it.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product. Can you add a Scope to this Airgun ?
asked Alejandro from USAHow do you "fix" the trigger?
asked Claude from USACan you kill small animals like Rabbits, Squirrels, and snakes, and etc with this gun?
asked Joy from USAYes, this is a very powerful gun compared to many others that I own. I also own the .22 caliber version and that is even more effective and hard hitting. Personally I'm very happy with both, but the .22 is better for larger vermin.
Jeffrey from USAI'm probably not the person to ask. You should ask the headless squirrel that was living in my attic, chewing my wires and generally having a nightly Jazz Jam. I tried the live trap route for a couple of weeks, but he gave me no choice but to get the Crosman Optimus. Highly recommended, unless you're a squirrel. The most humane way to do it.
Avon BarksdaleIs this gun made in China?
asked KevinIs this gun like the older version of the Crosman Pell 707.177 Cal Single Shot Air Rifle? If so, I really would like to buy one for my Husband for a Christmas Gift.
asked Pamela StallingsNo it's not like the 707, but it is a cool gun that I'm sure he'll like. If you want one more like the 707 then look at the "Industry Brand QB78" http://archerairguns.com/QB78-Chinese-Air-Rifle-p/qb78.htm
ROBERT from USANot even close, but I'd much rather have this gun than the 707. A Crosman 1077 is closer to the 707.
ROBERT from USA
Right out of the box, pretty accurate. Stiff at first, but gets better after used some. I would reccomend.
