NOTE: Hatsan decided to put a small hole on the side of the shroud to bleed off air when shot. Ok, now go ask Hatsan why.
Ok, still fresh out of the box with less than 1/2 a tin through the NOVA 22. I think it's a well balanced rifle at 11 lbs 3 oz with scope (using a fish scale), sighted in for less than 20yds using JSB 18gr. Groups are consistently punching a max 1/4" hole with each clip, which is acceptable in my book. I've yet to adjust the trigger on this thing. Hardly any recoil pushing pellets at an average of 916 fps with an ES of 28 for 60 shots (so far) and the dial is only in the middle of the 'green' on the tiny gauge it came with. Note, I did start with a fill pressure of 250 bar (abouts). I will keep shooting out this FILL and see how many more shots I can get until the shots start to drop off. Hopefully, I meet or exceed Hatsans 96 shots advertisement in 22 caliber. This is my first 'Bottled' air rifle so 60 shots already is impressive, to me.
Pros
Beautiful wooden stock and balanced. The built in picatinny rail for a bipod and swivel sling mount is much appreciated. I do not mind the velocity a little is less than advertised since most 22cal pellets I have shot through other brand of air rifles were not accurate (enough for me) with speeds exceeding 900 fps. Hek, I might end up lowering the velocity depending on the which brand pellet it bonds with. Price point, side lever, anti-double feed, shot count, extra clip, auto trigger lock, and of course Air Depot's discount coupon is what brought my Nova to my door. Actually, it was the great people of FedEx but, you know what I mean.
Cons
Need the wood stock to be adjustable. The air gauge is too small with a fat dial.
Question?
Login to ask someone who bought this product. Is there any way to cut back the barrel to the tip of air cylinder?
asked Thai from USACant find anything about what a maximum effective is with .25. I know it varies in large amounts with what pressure is and type and weight of ammo, but 6 different sites and forums it doesnt get mentioned.
asked Robert TIs the air bottle "field changeable"? In other words can you carry spare bottles and change in the field?
asked Billdoes it have a pressure regulator?
asked Greg from USAWhat kind of fill attachment does this rifle use? Does it require just a quick connect, or does it fill via a typical Hatsan probe?
asked Paul from ColombiaDoes the rifle have a pressure gauge mounted anywhere?
