The Daisy 753S (also known as the Avanti 753s) is a single pump pneumatic 10m match grade target rifle. It features a single-shot bolt action that fires through an excellent Lothar Walther high grade steel rifled barrel (12 lands and grooves with a right-hand twist) The bore is precision sized for match pellets and may be the perfect starter 10m rifle for those young and old wanting to try their hand at 10m air rifle.

Like all official 10m match rifles the gun features a front globe sight with changeable aperture inserts and a diopter rear sight with micrometer adjustments. It also has a full-length match-style stock with the ability to add spacers, a raised cheekpiece, a manual trigger lock safety and an adjustable single-stage trigger. This rifle action has been produced for decades and the CMP has a guide to improve its trigger. Will this gun compete with a FWB 800? No, of course not. But the FWB 800 Universal costs 7-10x more, so you could equip an entire school club with 753s for the price of one FWB. Also, for comparison, you can’t dry-fire a FWB 500, so you have to give FWB more than the entire price of the 753 (plastic) just to be able to do that. To make the most of this setup, get a real Gehmann target for 10m air rifle (it’s a very compact target holder) and some Krüger paper target for it.

Pros
A complete 10m air rifle package. Comes with a sling and swivel attachments to the stock, fully adjustable. Peep sights are cheaply made and turrets clicks are mushy but considering the whole rifle costs less than rear sights from any German brand, they are adequate. Cheap compared to any other dedicated 10m rifle out there. Easy to dry-fire which is a must for anyone who wants to progress in this field.

Cons
The main downside is the aweful trigger. It is gritty as hell and it hard to predict when the shot will break. The trigger shoe is made of plastic and has some flex to it. Getting rid of plastic components in the trigger and polishing the sear would be a game changer for this little unassuming rifle.

Fit and finish is 3 stars. Accuracy is a 5. The stock leaves a lot to be desired. Mine came with the front sight at 3:00. That was fun to get it lined up at 12:00. The one redeeming quality is that it is accurate. The barrel makes up for the rest of the rifle. Has a fair trigger.

Pros
great barrel

Cons
every thing but the barrel

A very accurate rifle. I like the stock extension, though it could be of better quality, it is very functional. The trigger is very smooth and crisp, with litle creep. I have no problem shooting pellets thru the same hole at 10 meters. The sling is kinda different, but seems to work well enough. The sights are nice, with the replaceable reticle. I was not ompresed with the finish on the stock, so I refifnshed it. The barrel and action have a nice bluing on them. The action is very nice. Overall I am very happy with this rifle. Worth the money if you desire extreme accuracy.

When will this ever be available?

asked William from USA

Wondering if the stock is cheap feeling, similar to my old powerline 880, or does it have some heft and strength to it?

asked David from USA

Does anyone know if they ship to Canada

asked Jerry from Canada

Yes. The Avanti 753S ships to Canada.

Mark from USA

Does the Daisy 753S take a 5 shot clip ?

asked Ross from Canada

Single-shot.

Mark from USA

This air rifle is very similar to the one my son uses in Cadets, can this be shipped to Canada? I have been looking here but all the Canadian sites seem to be sold out of this product.

asked Gary from Canada

Yes. The Avanti 753 can ship to Canada.

Mark from USA

is this the same air rifle s the Daisy 853C just a newer version?

asked Barry Lachance

Can you load a 5 shot clip in this or is it just a single load barrel?

asked James

If so many people can easily shoot center through the same hole, how does anyone ever win a competition? Every review I read has someone who is a distinguished expert I’m beginning to think the reviews are fake.

asked Lane Hagood

I don't think the reviews are fake but I feel a lot of people dont have a competition rifle to compare this against. They just compare against their previous crappy springer. Is this going to shoot like a FWB that costs 7-10x more? Of course not. The real question is does it out shoot you? For 90% of its buyers the answer is yes because most people vastly overestimate their marksmanship skills.

Nelbasrek from USA

Yes, have read the specs but am wondering how the 753s would perform at 50 meters, target only.

asked Jeffrey from USA

This is designed to punch a hole in paper at 10m with a wadcutter pellet. So no, do not expect much at 50m. Even with a profiled pellet, this would be lacking energy and would probably spiral out a lot.

Nelbasrek from USA

Will this ship to Canada?

asked Cody

Is this gun shipped complete with the shooting sling as pictured?

asked Mark

Yes

Nelbasrek from USA

Do you ship to Denmark?

asked Joergen from Denmark

Dose this model have the pellet clips" or rather magazine that the 953 model has ?

asked Rick from USA

Does this shoot only pellets? Or will it shoot BBs too?

asked Josh

Does it come with the sling as pictured?

asked Mark

What size and type scope would be good with this?

asked charles pearson

My rule of thumb when it comes to optics is that the maximum cost of the sight should stay within 20-25% of the cost of the rifle. I wouldn't spend more than $100 on a rifle scope for this specific model. Keep in mind that the recoil of most air guns are practically nonexistent, so just about any reliable .22 scope with a solid mount should keep a zero with ease. As far as zoom goes, I'd agree that getting a massive zoom capability like 9-16x would be a waste of money. I'd personally recommend 1-4x, or 3-9x. Make sure to check that the scope in question is parallax-corrected or parallax-free.

Eric

with this rifle you don't need a scope with the low muzzle velocity at 510 fps your range is at most 20 meters. If you insist on a scope I would use nothing over a 3-9x40mm and that is already overly excessive.
