I would actually rate this airgun at 4.5 stars....not much to complain about! The fit and finish are outstanding and you can group 5 pellets in about 1/2" at 50-75' without being Annie Oakley. The lever action is sharp and trigger pull outstanding. There is virtually no recoil allowing you to keep the scope on the target even at long ranges. I own a .30 cal. also and find them both outstanding with the .30 carrying a bit more punch.
Not so wonderful...instructions, which seem to be more "one size fits all" and the funky little air pressure gauges on the rifle(s). I am always wondering how accurate they are. My only other concern with these rifles are double loading pellets in the barrel. I have not done this, and don't even know if it's possible...and I don't want to try.
Overall these are quiet, highly accurate, fun rifles to own. My few criticisms should not keep you from owning this piece.
Pros
The lever action is sharp and trigger pull outstanding. There is virtually no recoil allowing you to keep the scope on the target even at long ranges. I own a .30 cal. also and find them both outstanding with the .30 carrying a bit more punch.
Cons
Not so wonderful...instructions, which seem to be more "one size fits all" and the funky little air pressure gauges on the rifle(s). I am always wondering how accurate they are. The safety could use some work, being more of a wet noodle. My only other concern with these rifles are double loading pellets in the barrel. I have not done this, and don't even know if it's possible...and I don't want to try.
Frankly I'm pretty upset. I don't know how others feel, but $1550 is a lot of money to spend on an airgun. I expect EVERYTHING to be perfect when I open the box. The airgun itself looks gorgeous. That said, the Fill Probe that came with it, simply will not seal well enough to charge the rifle. It is sitting at about 150 bar now. I am using the same pump that I use for my Marauder, and no dice. I can't even build up to 20 Bar, according to my pump.
Pros
Beautiful.
Cons
Can't use it as shipped.
I did a lot of research before buying this rifle and it has been a good choice. Pellet on pellet accuracy at 50 yards, hard hitting for hunting. Love how compact it is and how well balanced and easy to carry. This rifle does everything it is advertised to do.
Pros
Accurate, powerful, compact, well balanced and just plan fun to shoot.
Cons
None so far.
First this rifle out shoots me. It is so accurate unless I lock it to a vice it shoots better then I do. This gun is very light in walnut and well balanced. The rifle operates very smoothly and compared to my Hatson bullboss and Benjamin Marauder it is very quiet. The factory trigger is so smooth and light it's unbelievable . I could have adjusted it but no need. I love this gun. The wildcat shoots JSB Exact Kings 25.39 extremely well. I tried some Nielson Specialty Ammo in it 34.7 hollow point slugs, they shot extremely well. I was surprised the X barrel smooth twist handled them so well. I haven't tried the rat sniper slugs yet, I'm hoping they do just as well. I had an issue with the price but after shooting the gun it was worth it.
pinpoint accuracy shot after shot after shot. At current price the absolute best bargain too.
Pros
Accurate, quiet, easy to load, smooth operation, hard hitting, anything more? Oh yes did I mention accurate?
Cons
Only one mag with gun and more are expensive but great operating. I bought seven more because this gun and you deserve them. Finish not as good as I expected on a $1500.00 gun but that is fixable and certainly overshadowed by the positives.
The FX Wildcat is a nice well finished air rifle. I ordered the 25 caliber. Initial Impressions were good, I have the Walnut stock.
It came in a nice cardboard box with foam padding, there is one magazine and a fill adapter included. The manual is in color and seems to be fairly comprehensive.
The cocking lever seems to operate fairly smooth and locks in place. The trigger is awesome best one I felt on an air rifle in sometime. The scope rail is a dovetail not a Picatinny or weaver mount. For another hundred dollars or so you can add that. But at $1,500 retail it probably should have came with it. The air charge adapter as a male threaded end, not a quick release like most air rifles. You have to buy a separate adapter if you want to use this on most hand pumps.
The reason I went with his rifle were the reviews of accuracy, velocity and innovative Barrel design. One big factor was the safety also, not an automatic safety.
I honestly think that FX could have added a few more conveniences to the rifle, picatinny rail, one additional magazine, a more user-friendly air fill adapter.
I haven't shot the rifle yet waiting on my fill adapter. Maybe the accuracy will take away from some of the initial shortcomings. It seems like a great air-gun, but I am a little disappointed FX didn't add a few extras for the price. Also the barrel was pretty dirty- requires cleaning before shooting right out of the box.
Pros
Bull Pup design, good shot count per fill (reported) no automatic safety.
Cons
price and no pic rails, dirty barrel (see pic) -pics will not upload-sorry

I've been shooting sixty years. This rifle is very high quality, functions smoothly, and is extremely accurate. At 40 meters from a bench rest, 6 shots are in one hole the size of a quarter. In my state, shooting is oppressively regulated. I can shoot this rifle in my yard. It came with a moderator and is quite quiet. I bought the .30 cal, penetration seems to be very good shooting into a woodpile. Overall, an impressive rifle, worth the money. I have lots of guns of all types, this has become one of my favorites.
Pros
Very well made. Attractive wood stock. Functions perfectly.
Cons
Location of the safety takes getting used to.
