Doesn't preform like a tac driver penetraites plates statues at 30yards. Again with Red Fire rounds.
Pic is 2 rounds one being the gamo red fire 15.4grain vs ruger superpoint 17gr. The ruger hits are denoted by lead circles as they wouldn't penetraite. The holes are from red fires. @30yards.

Pros
. 22cal using gamo Red Fire 15.4gr. No complaints, accurate and rabbit squrrel killer @30 yards which is what I require. Accuracy <1in diameter at 30yds. No complaints on any part of it. Solid build, solid optics. Not first or only airgun or weapon. Trained and proficient by US Army Recon Not bragging just saying I'm not a newbie with reviews or weapons.

Cons
Change the 30/30 rectical to Mildot.

I was going to put a different scope on this and a year later haven’t... TACK DRIVER to 25 yards with Gammo Red Fire pellets... i can’t tell you the number of squirrels and feral cats this thing has killed... I love it because it’s light and my Hatsan 25 and 30 caliber units are accurate as can be by heavy to shoulder.... when you need quiet and a 22 LR will be too loud... this for the price can’t be beat... it’s so accurate...

Pros
Accurate Price I haven’t changed the scope out and its not bad 25 yards out...

Cons
Zero

Simply LOVE this rifle. Very accurate at 33 yards using 20 gr H&N .22 pellets... price point is just amazing for what you get. There is a break in period and you need to include rifle cant and install a scope level. I took this out to 88 yards and grouping was much wider but every pellet within 2nd target ban. Recommended to eventually upgrade scope and level. Use Gamo Master Point and TS-22

This gun was the first.22 airgun i bought, i was not disappointed. Scope mounted and zeroed quickly. I use game match grade wad cutter ammo. I shoot destructive birds at my buddies farm and 2hrs into the hornets first test run i dropped 25 pigeons & countless starlings. This thing is ruthless. Light enough for my 12 yr old son to use. Powerful enough to go through a pigeon at 100ft. Great choice!

2 out of every 6 shots go where the choose. o have adjusted the scope and to no prevail. the gun has power but since I cant control where the pellet is going it has no use for me. the problem is there is no pattern 4 shots can be dead on and 2 of them go in the opposite direction of each other. it will not sight semi accurately at more than 25 yards

Pros
it has the power, it feels comfortable against your shoulder.

Cons
consistently inaccurate

I got this gun two days ago and the only thing I can say positive about the gun is that it looks good my first five shots with this gun at an empty cardboard box wouldn't even go through both sides one of the shots actually jump back at me this one makes 7 out of 11 Gamo that I bought are junk this one's going back as soon as the store opens back up to tell you the truth my Daisy Red Ryder has more power than this thing!!!! does 1300 ft per second its more like three feet per second I'm surprised the pellet even made it out of the barrel and as far as sound suppression I shot 22 long rifles that are quieter than this thing is the pellets that I try to run through it we're h&n Crow magnums never had a problem with a pellets before just this gun keep your money in your pocket until you can buy a hatsan it's three times the gun at half the price I've got 3 of them now and all of them shoot way better than this brand new Hornet maximum dose you could probably throw a marshmallow faster than this gun shoots a pellet and probably more accurately to

Pros
Absolutely no pros at all this gun is garbage

Cons
Absolutely everything no power at all won't shoot a pellet over 13 or 14 feet per second absolutely no power I got another bad one!!!!!!!!! what can I say shame on me for wasting my money on this one if I could have given this gun a - 100 rating that would be telling the truth

Bought the Gamo Hornet Maxxim at BPS in November of 2016. Brought it home and mounted the scope that came with it and started shooting 7.6 grain pellets through it. Got it sighted in with no problem. It is much more accurate if you have something to rest it on when you shoot. I took my first squirrel with it this evening at about 25 yards resting my Gamo against a dogwood tree. So far, I am very happy with my Gamo Hornet Maxxim. I hope it hold up to what I will put it through.

Pros
Easy mount scope. Easy to sight in. The look of the gun is great.

Cons
Need something to hold it against for increased accuracy. Slightly hard to cock it if you have a sore elbow.

Bought mine at Cabelas for 159.99. Took it home a shot at 10 yards. The gun itself is nice. Its light, trigger isn't too hard, easy safety, and pretty quiet. I wish I could buy the rifle without the scope, as it is junk anyways. Shot it about 20 times each with 4 different ammo. Could not keep zero. When adjusted it barely moved. When it did move it would get off target after a couple shots. I checked the bolts they were all tight.

Pros
light, quiet, and easy to use.

Cons
scope is junk.

Easy scope assembly to gun rail. Perfect optics for a pellet gun. Smooth cocking mechanism with perfect resistance. Once dialed in, it was pretty much a tack driver at 50 yards! Look forward to some field time with this lightweight plinker!

What is the most accurate ammo at 45 to 50 yards in .22 caliber

asked Matthew Carter

Why in hell can't I get this thing zeroed. I've been shooting firearms for over 50 yrs. And never had a problem zeroing in my rifles or handguns. This is the second pellet gun that won't zero. First I got the Gamo Wildcat. Impacts all over the target. Put different scope on, same thing. I tried 4 different pellets. No improvement. Returned it to the store. Got the Gamo Hornet Maxxim. A little better, but still can't get 3 shoots in a 3" circle. Again, this is with 4 different pellets. I did notice the more I shot, the groups were getting better. So, can someone tell me what's going on here. I know it isn't me. Two guns, same problem using different pellets. Shooting with a benchrest. This was done at about 40 ft. I think these under $200 guns are just junk. Any comments would be appreciated.
