Hatsan Vortex gas piston technology is developed and manufactured by Hatsan to be specifically used in most Hatsan break barrel and under lever airguns. Vortex gas pistons utilize regular air instead of any other type of gas. Gas piston power provides a smoother and quieter shooting experience, so you can forget about the grinding noise a spring powered gun can make. Cocking a vortex gas piston is also much smoother than a spring piston. The life of your Striker 1000s Vortex air rifle with cycle past your other springers, since you won't have to worry about spring fatigue or many moving parts. This rifle will provide you with quiet accuracy and all the features that come with a Hatsan air rifle.

This is turning out to be a very good gun indeed .The gun is now well broken in and is shooting tight quarter sized shot groups at 30yds with H&N domed 8.5gr Sniper Medium pellets.- 5 shots with 3 holes. These are the most accurate pellets that I have tested in this gun so far. It also shoots well with Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum 10.5gr domed pellets and Crosman 10.5gr Piranha semi-domed hollow point pellets at 30yds. Great doing business with AGD. Tom

Pros
Bargan Price-Good Gun- Reliable and Dependable Dealer in AGD-they will help you in every way that they can.- The trigger works out fine for me and is much better than many of the others that I have shot.-.Reasonably light weight and easy " for me" to cock.- Good balance and handles well.

Cons
None so far.

I recieved my Hatsan Stryker yesterday from AGD. This will be the 6th air rifle that I have purchased from AGD. They did a superbly excelent job of packaging the gun and pellets that I ordered and the delivery was prompt. Being exceptionaly excellent at their job is normal everyday practice for AGD employees and AGD's prices are a bargan! These are the exact reasons that I buy from them. They have never ever let me down in any way. I thoroughly cleaned the bore and checked the tightness of all exterior screws. I took the gun down to a local machineshop and had the bore and barrel laser checked for straightness on their CMM. The quality machining on the barrel was outstanding. I later began shooting the gun using Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum 10.5 domed pellets. I did not mount the scope during the break-in process. All shots were taken using the open barrel mounted sights. All shots were fired seated and the gun supported. I took 10 shots to zero the gun and fired 100 shots at a target 25yds away. Most of the shots were with-in 2in and the ones that were not, happened because of shooting errors on my part. Once I mount and zero a scope, I am expecting the shot groups to be 3/4 in or less at 25-30 yds. I have a Hatsan Edge Vortex 25cal that shoots well at 25-30 yds and I expect this gun to preform well too! I Thank Each & Everyone at Air Gun Depot, from the office to the shipping area. Tom

Pros
Powerful-Accurate-Bargan Price - Dependable Honest Dealer

Cons
Not made with the Edge thumbhole stock in a vortex piston 177cal.

Excellent Rifle! The gun shoots pretty straight out of the box. Very powerful and very accurate!

Pros
Extremely quiet and accurate, and absolutely devastating to rodents at 20 meters.

Cons
The scope is OK! And the Bi Pod, it looks good, but it is kind of flimsy ............... The riffle a little heavy.

I've had this air rifle for about two months now. So far o have put about 500 + pellets through it, with no issues. Great accuracy at 15-20 yards. I use it every other day for squirrel hunting, I have to say it does pack a punch.!!!

Pros
Synthetic, quiet and good looking.

Cons
Scope could be better.

Ordered this gun to go squirrel hunting with, i received my order earlier than expected. After taking out of the box i test fired it once to make sure it was working and it fired fine, the sights were off but that wasn't a problem. i also had to check the screws and most all were tight. mounted the scope that came with the gun, it isn't the best but it did come with the gun. I don't think its as loud as it says, haven't had any neighbors complain about it. seems to shoot well, but i'm all over the target, (that's probably just me, i'm bad about pulling a shot when target shooting)

This is a fun rifle to shoot. I got dime sized groups at 10yds with a rest. While there is some drop off beyond 30 yds it is still easy to get 3 inch groups at 50 yds with a mill dot scope. It is a light rifle which is easier to hold and shoot than its magnum counterparts. The stock seems to resonate a hollow sound when shooting which could likely be remedied with some foam insulation. The Nitro piston is very smooth but not without some kick. It seems more powerful than the Benjamin Nitro piston. The trigger pull is long but smooth and relatively light and is predictable. I would expect minimal drop off at 50 yds with the .22 .This is an easier rifle to carry around but still packs enough power and accuracy to be a reliable hunter.
The stock screws were loose on arrival but easily tightened and have stayed stable without locktite. The previous negative poster may have had this issue and not realized it. There was no barrel hinge play laterally and the barrel did not have any visible or functional droop.

Pros
Excellent Power and accuracy. More powerful than its Benjamin counterparts. Light and fun to shoot.

Cons
Hollow sound that resonates stock when shooting. Stock screws were loose had to tighten

While I was actually hoping for a decent showing at 650 FPS the rifle I recieved was noticably down on power. It also shot way low and over 1 foot to the left. The supplied scope arrived with the Up/Down adjuster over tightened in the max down position and it tool over 3 turns to even get the POI onto an 11x14 target. Shortly after firing several 3 round zeroing groups the trigger failed completely and would not shoot the rifle. I called SGD Monday and it shipped out to them as a defect today. This was a Nitro version of the 1000 and sold in .25 caliber. I will replace it with a little more widely used .22 with a bit more power once that rifle is inspected and a refund is issued...So far AGD has been absolutely great with resolving the issues with this rifle..

Bob

Pros
Nice feel. Rubber inlaid forestockk and piston grip, scope stop, fiber optic iron sight.

Cons
Failed to meet the 650 FPS mark, had bad barred droop, and the trigger malfunctioned. Generally a poorly assembled rifle all the way around. Possible the elast one on a Friday or the first one on a Monday kind of thing...

I bought the spring version that was about 110$, but it is not on the website any more, but I had to write a review for this gun. This gun is built great. It is extremely light weight and is the most silent pellet gun I have ever considered shooting. This gun is great for the money. I own 4 pellet guns right now and this is the best even though it was the cheapest. (the spring was cheaper). The scope is not that bad on the gun and the bipod is what you would expect (not great) and the trigger is bad. There is an extremely long trigger pull but don't let that discourage you from buying this gun. Great iron sights as well. I put on a ruby lense NC china made 3-9x40 (one of the first guns for sale 30$) and they make a great pair!

Cons
Bad trigger

After cocking the gun and placing the barrel in shooting position, the barrel had movement left to right, causing no accurate shooting.
The gun is powerful, and has a nice look. But some work needs to be done on the movement of the barrel.

Pros
Its quiet, and strong

Cons
The barrel moves left to right while tring to shoot

Is that a moderator on the end, or just a cocking grip?

asked Jeremy from USA

What is the cocking effort?

asked Greg Fontenot

I rec'd mine today. Tried mounting the scope. I finally took the scope-stop off to get comfortable eye relief. Is there a way to use the scope with the scope-stop? It shot 6 inches low at 10 yards, and took two and a half full turns of the scope adjustment to get close to aiming point. How many turns can these scopes adjust?

asked Leigh from USA

So the scope stop is always going to be a little uncomfortable but you will indeed get used to it. In regard to why you had to turn it so much is because 1 MOA at 100 yards is an inch so a 1/4 MOA click is 1/4 inch so lets say at 50 yards we can assume one click is 1/8 of an inch which is half right? So 1/10 of that distance, which is 10 yards where you were shooting, one click is only 1/40 of an inch.

Marshall White

Anybody have or had an issue with the trigger not firing the gun unless you allow the trigger to spring back by itself? This rifle is brand new and has only fired about 50 shots and it started getting long in the trigger until it finally stopped firing at all. Which way should I turn the single screw on the rear of the trigger to see if that will eliminate the problem? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Oh it is a Hatsan .25 Striker 1000s with a vortex cylinder.

asked Robert from USA

If your rifle is having trigger and firing problems and it is new, I would suggest you take it to a gunsmith or Return it to either Hassan or the place of purchase to be repaired or replaced. Not to try it yourself. The reason is purely for SAFETY REASONS. Messing with the trigger without having the knowledge of doing so Is a dangerous situation. Being new, the place of purchase should replace the rifle under their return/defective policy.

William from USA

I am a senior citizen and of slight built physically; how difficult is it to break-cock to load?

asked Qing

I have a Mod 85 gas piston, I believe that all the vortex hatsans are around 30lbs of cocking force. It's not too bad but it's a good stiff pull not sure of your strength in either arm. It will wear on you a bit if you shoot a lot.

Chris knowles from USA

Will this work for wild pig hunting 20 to 50 yards ? Thanks

asked christopher

I have killed hogs with a hatsan .25 pcp rifle, but due to lower velocity of the pellet with this gun, I wouldn't shoot a hog unless it is in your lap, but with extremely good shot placement at 20 yards, it is possible

Daniel

What is going on with the Vortex (air) concept, instead of the normal nitro (nitrogen gas) piston all others are using?

asked Stan from USA

Well it seems Crosman and others charge their gas rams with nitrogen and Hatsan uses regular dry air. I've heard rumors on the forums that a dry air system would make the gas ram rebuildable and hence rechargeable by the average airgunner. All I can tell you is I own the Striker 1000s .25 caliber in both versions, springer and vortex gas ram. The vortex version is quieter and the secondary recoil is reduced, however to say this gun is smooth in either version is relative. These things are extremely powerful and kick like a mule. If you are looking for maximum hard hitting power in a medium frame rifle, then I highly recommend the Srtiker1000 .25 caliber in either version.
