Weihrauch HW 75 Pellet Pistol

I purchased this to replace a CO2 pistol I've been shooting for a couple years. I wanted more of a target pistol, with a better trigger, a pistol grip to better fit my hand, and an optics rail. It came down to either the Beeman P1 or the HW75. After reading numerous reviews on both I chose the HW75. So far I've only shot about 500 rounds but I'm very happy with it. The service from Air Gun Depot was great, I had the pistol in about 5 days.

Pros
The trigger out of the box is excellent, I havent tried to adjust it yet but may try to lower it a bit after I’m used to it. I only shoot bullseye at 10 meters so I don’t need the additional power of the P1 or the hassle of a 2 stage pump. I like that the safety is not automatic and that you have to cock the hammer to shoot. The grips fit my large hands well and I like the 1911 angle. I shoot both left and right handed so the ambidextrous grip is nice. There is zero recoil and I thought the noise level was pretty low; it’s less than the CO2 pistol it replaced. I haven’t bench rested it yet but accuracy appears to be superb, I’m sure it shoots better than I can. I can’t comment on the sights as I’ve only shot it with the red dot.

Cons
It does take quite a bit of strength to charge it. I'm only using the red dot so I removed the rear sight and that does make it easier charge it (no rear sight blade digging into my hand when I close it). The optics rail is wider than the advertised 11MM but I could get a red dot with an 11MM rail to fit securely on it. Loading the pellet just takes a little getting used to. It is expensive but you get what you pay for; the workmanship is outstanding.

"The Holy Grail of Air pistols," hands down! The Weirach Hw75 is an exquisite made air pistol, real beautiful & comfortable wood grips, beautiful matt black metal construction built to last for a long time! To be honest I didn't even tested the front & rear iron sites, I was so excited to receive mine I placed a viper vortex scope on mine immediately! The accuracy is exceptional & I was highly surprised at the power that was generated which means it's more than capable of pest control & that's a proven fact! I absolutely love it & highly recommend it for airgun lovers that can afford it!

This is my favorite air pistol, and the one I return to time and again. Expensive, but well worth it for what I have. I find I pick this one up for "just a few shots" much more often than my CO2 powered gun.

Pros
Accurate. If I miss, I missed. It's not the airgun. Good weight, exceptional grip, nice trigger (although on the light side, depending on your taste), and drops a hammer to fire. Adjustable sites that are simple and clear. Very low recoil.

Cons
None for me; some have complained about power, but this pistol (for me) is all about the accuracy at 7-15m range.

The Weirauch HW75 is a joy to handle and shoot for all reasons listed above! I own two excellent Air Venturi 10 meter target pistols, but the Weirauch is the one I covet - enough said!

Exudes quality, balanced in hand, excellent ambidextrous wood grips, light, short, crisp trigger, zero recoil, low noise level, moderate cocking effort, hammer based dry-fire option, instruction pamphlet included.

Cons
Fixed, non-interchangeable front sight, cardboard box in lieu of hard case.

try to find one con by ordering anther one with different sights of red dots or scope. The first is mounted with red dots. want to see if there is a difference between two ordered on different times

I have always opt for the best quality,high end, air rifles/Pistols made. After starting off with spring piston air rifles,switching to PCP's since introduction. The only springer that I still have is a old TX200 that I find very hard to shoot accurately, after shooting PCP's for so long.I have owned CO2 pistols also. I wanted a high quality pistol without an external power source, no recoil, and no blow back. The HW 75 is one of few in this description category. I did have a little muscle fatigue after hours of cocking

The HW75 is in the top tier of best made and highest quality single stroke pneumatics on the market as of today 8-2-2019

Could be a problem to repeatedly cock for some ....Easier to cock would be a dream come true, and a excellent 4 star pistol, would become a perfect 5 star

When this gun arrived 2 weeks ago, I almost returned as I could not cock it by hand (I still can't). Then I found that by using the end of the shooting bench, I finally got the gun cocked. After that, I realized what a really nice gun this is. One hole groups! The trigger is very good, not like my old Baikal, but after I installed an over-travel stop, it is as useable as most PCP target pistols. Only gripe, advertised cocking effort was 19 pounds. As measured at the base of the rear sight, close to 30 pounds was needed. Since I'm old, pushing 70, I know I'm not as strong, but enough about that. A nice point of this gun, since it has a hammer opening, the pellet speed loaders at Air Gun Depot are great. They make this the easiest single shot pellet gun to load that I've had. The grip was a little tight for my big hands, but a spacer between the grip and the frame addressed that. Once I made these changes, this is becoming one of my favorite guns.

Very accurate. Plays well with Airgun Depot speed loader (I can't remember the make, but it's the blue plastic one).

I wish this gun was easier to cock, or I wish I was stronger!

I was travelling a lot overseas, and was delighted to once come home and find the HW75 had finally arrived. Alas, had to go back to India and didn't really get much of a chance to shoot it. Now I'm retired and bought my grandson, 9 years old and visiting from Florida, a Benjamin Trail NP. He had fun shooting in the backyard, but then I remembered the HW75 was somewhere in a closet. I found it and first let him dry-fire it. His eyes lit up. He has been shooting an H&K VP 9 against a laser target for the past week and is better than I am. (It is a real firearm with a bullet that shoots a laser beam at the target when hit by the firing pin). No, he is not taking the HW75 home with him. It will just be another reason besides the swimming pool to come back to Texas to see his grandparents. :)

Accurate and a great trigger. Solid build.

Cons
It is a little difficult for my fat fingers to insert a pellet. Also, an adjustment for over-travel would have been nice.
