The Walther Rotek is incredibly accurate and feels good in the hand. The stock is beautiful and the weight distribution is perfect! Mine is in .177 and can easily shoot .25 inch center-to-center groups all day long. I put a few shots (JSB exact heavy 10.34 grain pellets) over my Chrony F1 and there was an average velocity of 850 with a max spread of 5 fps over the first 8 shots (the only ones I tested). I was able to get 64 shots before I hit the 120 bar refill point and my groups were boringly accurate all the way through. The only thing working against this gun is the lack of a suppressor - it is LOUD! I'd compare it to a .22 rim fire rifle. However I knew it didn't have one when I bought it, so that can't really affect my rating. It has 1/2x20TPI threads under the removable barrel weight so you could attach a firearm suppressor using an adapter if you have a registered, legal suppressor. Overall it's a great rifle and well worth looking into (especially if your neighbors are a ways off).
Pros
-Accurate
-Beautiful stock
-Good price
-High shot count
Cons
-Loud
I picked up a Rotek last week just because the sale and have read really good things about the RM8 on the Web. Now that I have it in my hands all I have to say is WOW! The stock is beautiful, the construction of the rifle is top notch, and the accuracy is off the charts for a .22 in this class. In the past 5 days I've put about 700 rounds through it and each session with the rifle seems to get better and better. I plan of using this as my 25 to 75 yard pest control weapon and from what I have seen so far it's definitely up to the task. Been shooting the JSB 18.13 and the 15.89 grain pellets through this and both pellets prove to be good match for the rifle. I think the 18.13's are a bit more accurate but this is to be expected with the additional weight. Been shooting single hole dime sized 8 shot groups at 25 yards, quarter sized ones at 50, but have yet to shot it out at 75 due to limitations in the back yard. All in all this is a great rifle and for the price and a hard one to beat. I highly recommend this to anyone that is on the fence about buying one of these. You will not be disappointed with this rifle.
Pros
- Stock is beautiful
- Accuracy is excellent
- Trigger is crisp and consistent
- Gets about 50-60 shots per fill (filling to 225 bar and shooting it down to just over 100 bar)
- Very well balanced
Cons
- Looks a bit strange with a larger scope on it and the carbine style appearance (I put a mock suppressor on mine to make it look more correct with my Hawke Sidewinder 4-12 x 50 with the 4" shade on it)
- Has a pretty loud report and not very back yard friendly
- Has no provision for a sling mount on the forearm making it difficult to mount a bipod or a sling for hunting (I don't know if a bottle mount would work on this rifle but will be asking Walther in the near future about this)
- Is pretty heavy for its size and with no sling mount makes it a chore to lug around in the field.

The stock is amazing and the fit and finish of the rifle is better than some of my high end powder burner rifles. Accurate right out of the box too. Compact and balanced this rifle has it all.
